I am a first time grower waiting to receive my prints. And I was just wondering how everybodys first crop turned out and Advice from anybodys mistakes if there was any. Even if there were no mistakes I would like to know how they turned out. Thanks Peace and Love

larry,
the first time my fish grew out a crop they tried the standard cake method with the first pint jar. the second jar to finish was cased with vermiculite and put in a small plastic ziploc tupperware container. needless to say the regular cake never did shit! the cased cake did fine though. my fish live in a very dry region though and this may be the reason that the casing did better although the fruiting conatiner seemed to have good humidity. my other advice is this...follow the directions to the "t" especially about being sterile. after you do a few then experiment with other stuff....good luck!

Turned out very weak and only got one flush using amazonians. BRF/VERM cakes. Was basically a waste of time for me.

My first, second, AND third try turned out to be mold.. YaaaAaaaA 
This time all is well though, and I'm sure glad I didn't quit.

My first time well - 12 (all) of my jars colonized 100% no contams followed MMGG to the exact. However they fucked up during the fruiting stage. I had about 7-8 cakes. Five of them flushed at least once and about 2-3 flushed twice. I tried some casings with the the remainder of my jars. I fucked up big time on these casings and thats what fucked me. First mistake was slicing my cakes into very very think slices like cutting the cakes 6x!=( So I got fruits off my 1st casing (straight verm) they were sooooooooooo small and thin - I got 1 decent sized fruit and i say decent by this was still very small.
Then I made a 50/50 casing and half of it got contamed so I decided to cut the half out and spray the other half with bleach and h202 - then place it directly into the terranium where my 7 cakes layed this was a mistake, a huge one! The mold existed under the casing and it spread to the cakes contamed them and bam all dead. Sucked but you live and learn.

The Ramsey seal method seems to work good for me. My first time turned out nothing,2nd time, close to nothing, third time some sucess. Fourth-present like tying my shoes. READ everything, look at old posts, but most of all pick a tek, pf probably and follow it till you succeed. Then move on, you'll build a ton of basic experience that way and have fewer failures. Then go to dung, I LOVE dung grows, they are the easiest for max yeild I have tried. And they will turn out some kickass flushes too, unreal flushes, flushes like these people take pictures of and post in the tek pics.

My first attmep grew three shrooms from a small pan that was put in my closet, no lid, no humidity no special treatment except sterile conditions and caseing. I didnt know better than to let it grow flushes.
My second attempt was with a syringe full and brown with spores. I PC'd 10 jars, let them cool. I had punched small nail holes in the tops and taped them shut and let them sit for a day.
I was sooo excited to inoculate and get my setup going sprayed everything down with lysol and gathered all I needed to inoculate the jars. When I plunged the needle into the first one the pressuer inside sucked the plunger down and the jar ate up all my spores. 
Later that jar would grow contams and I swore Id never grow again.
Then I found the shroomery...

I tried 2 jars at first just to see if I could pull it off.....unknown strain from JLF. I ended up with 5 grams dried.....but I'll never forget those first pins coming or the first little guy I pulled off the cakes.....SO proud!

Ok my first time out i ordered a syringe, i used the PF tek followed it to the T except i couldn't find 1/2 pint wide mouth jars anywhere or 1/2 pint either so in my rush to get started i used
regular pint jars ( not recommended ) these took TWO MONTHS to colonize!! and they kept stalling out. I finally birthed them only 90% colonized ( also not recommended but i had to do something ) and cased them with just vermiculite ( i crumbled the cakes ) it worked great though, i got nice flushes and some big shrooms too. Two of the biggest i made prints with
4 inchers, nice!! Oh while waiting for my jars to colonize i went to work on making my own terranium, it works great and was cheap to make and while i've outgrown it i still use it today. i used perlite for humidity. I also presterilized substrate in the oven. wore latex gloves clean, clean, clean i even wore a dust mask. Good luck!! Remember sterile everything!!

First grow 12 out of 12 jars contamed with the BRF/verm style.Second grow i did in magic bags ate my first few crops today only 3 shrooms and i was flying the rest still need time.

my first time i grew equadors. i knocked up twelve half pinters following pf, lost about three to the green. i farmed one cake and cased the rest. that was the only time i followed the rules to a t. i have basically been doin my own shit since. oh yeah, ithink i pulled off upwards of 20 grams all in all from my first try.

15 pint jars, no contamination .
I boiled for sterilisation.
Used plain brown rice on some and brf/verm on others.
Used pf style for some and cased the rest.
All good fruits lots of them.
Peurto Recans and amasonians.

First crop (6 jars) all got cobweb mould, either because i didnt keep temps up enough or do enough sterilisation.
Second crop using a proper terrarium only did 6 jars, lost 3 to cotam's, 2 others did get some cobweb mould whilst in the jar, but i cut this out and treated with H2O2 and they where fine. They (EQ's) are still flushing now - 1st flush netted about 10 shrooms off 2 reduced in size cakes. 1 other cake refuses to pin. Not much I know but the first shroom u grow makes it worth it and gives you the confidence to do better next time.
Have just innoculated 9 more jars but have now built a incubator that will give me higher temperature than b4.
As everyone says the closer u follow the teks the better results you will get.
