Curious cause I just tried this one today was wondering if any1 else has. Thanx ppl! 'Clown Wit It!!'~~ MYSTIKALEdited by Datrutankdogg69 on 07/24/01 02:28 PM.

hey man, thats a damn good idea... the h202 kills spores but not mycelium right? and the honey will give it something to grow on... hmmm why can't you just mix h202 with honey and water and put it in a jar and do it just like liquid cultures... just innoculate with the mycelium/honey/h202 syringe and itll be totaly contam free... just gotta find out the ratios for h202 water and honey...

The h2o2 breaks down when you sterilise the liquid media. But I assume you could just add it later and inject with mycelia water. Just be clean, Bla bla bla

yea, im thinking just p.c. the honey water and stuff.. .then add the h202 with a syringe or something, try to be clean but dont worry about it too much... but how good is h202 at fighting contams really? the only thing i use h202 for is in my water i use with my mist maker used for humidification.... i really wanna go more into depth on this, it could be a great new tech or something, just pour it all through a strainer and use the mycelium for eating or whatever... i wonder how much you would have from a quart jar... .... anyone else got any ideas?

mmm not sure if peroxide can sterilize the honey water...better to sterilize as usual (20 minutes 15 psi) and when cool suck no more than 1/4 cc in a 20 cc syringe. then you can do the trick!... or here's another option: prepare a jar of HW as usual, but with some pieces of glass inside, sterilize and let cool. Add the peroxide then add the agar squares. The peroxide protect the honey water from contams... i used this tek to clone mushies, just prepare all and put in the jar some pieces of stem.

From what i have read lately Honey it self has antibacrial properties. In fact it is what the Egyptions(or was it the romans) used to put it on cuts and it would not get infected. I'm not sure if it still does after being diluted that much in water though. Just an interesting fact i came across. L3D
