Gulf Coast is in full swing

Hit a field last night, there are shrooms everywhere! Gulf Coast, get your bags and flashlights ready, it's cube season.

Coudnt get any pics of this particular find, we ate em all last night. 4lbs wet, it filled our paper bag to the top. Almost every shroom was gigantic, many was starting to rot, I prolly threw away around 20-25 very.. and let me stress that word.. VERY big shrooms. Cap count came to 113, hunt time was around an hour.. all from the same field.

I've never seen so many cubes in one field. None of them was out in the open, or far away from a water source. Most of the finds was around small ponds, and drainage ditches that was cut through the middle of the field. Fencelines were bare.. it hasnt rained that much, so that prolly explains why they were only growing from area's with water nearby.

Dosed about 3am, at 11 this morning I was still having very noticable visuals, I'd prolly say this was my hardest trip visually, and I only ate around 20-30 grams wet. I almost couldnt handle the mental trip, and ended up having to smoke some weed to help level my head out.

Back to the point... Gulf Coast has just been renamed to the Cube Coast, go get some damn shrooms people!

don't get discouraged. I have some friends that have been hunting every week for the past month and havent found anything yet. They just aint poppin' in the particular field they are going to yet. Try hittin' some different fields, you'll find some.

4lbs wet ?? Damnn thats Bad@$$ J, keep up the good work- I take it u didnt find any copes with Alll those huge cubes? i imagine u should have found a few at least- ....

i sure would like to see a habitat shot of the field as a whole- sure does sound Big to me if it has numerous ponds on it

Four pounds is a steep claim for this time of year.

The Gulf Coast is usually in full swing by July 4th.

4 lb. doesn't seem like that much to find, but a lot to eat. I found 7 caps on 2 patties the other night that were almost a 1/4 lb fresh. At that rate I could've found 4 lb on like 30 patties.

ya 4lbs and so much i live in lousiana .. and over the month me and some buds have gotten about 10lbs..jdirty is rite... wherever theres a spot were theres ponds or small creeks flowing threw theres lots of mushrooms

Im not doubting the find; I am just wondering how many people it took to eat that many mushrooms, especially if the op just ate 20-30 grams out of 1800.

If all the people ate similar amounts thats 60-90 people.

i too live by the gulf coast.
But its out of season for my field:(
I live in south texas any advice to where else i could search..
the cubes I pick grow on cow dung.

it's weird tho, cuz the field i normally go to(covered in trees, it's acctually a patch of woods the cows hang in) i havent found anything in a month and very little when i did, yet driving around i see em out in the open fields i normally dont go to, therefore i get em at night, but still, it seems out it the open it's dryer and it hasnt rained THAT much, but i still cant figure out why unless someone else is getting to them first and im just being too slow and noticing the others in fields other people dont notice or go to, any way i got a nice little stash in the last few nights, yet i still wish my normal field was in full flush....:mushroom2::rocket:

My only nearby field is a horse pasture. The horses that used to be in it got moved. It's pretty much dry now.

Theres a big cow pasture across the road from the horse farm, but I'm afraid to go on the property. It's right on a busy road. Also the fence is barbed wire. :frown:



Maybe I'll check it out at night.

Anybody find anything in SW FL? I'm a little south of Tampa, and I havn't found much at all. Too early here for cubensis, but there were some weak LBMs a week ago.



Anyone nearby have luck yet????
