Honestly, for the past two season's, the only shroom that I have found in the fields were cubensis. I havent had the opportunity to ID a cope. I do find it strange though, that everywhere I go and hunt, the ONLY shrooms I find are cubensis. I dont even find inactives whenever there are actives popping. Cubes are definetely dominating the fields in my area's. To get semi-specific, the Lake Charles/Sulphur and surrounding area's.
This super-productive field that my most recent hunt occurred in is such a sweet spot. It's south of town where aint nobody living around it. Some dirt road just cuts off of the main road, and its a public road which a proper street sign, so technically, its legal to be driving on the road. It goes for about a mile, with shroom fields on both sides of the dirt road, prolly at least 20 acres wide, by however long the dirt road goes. This dirt road continue for several miles, with fields on both sides the whole way. Each seperate field has an average stock of cattle, shit's are everywheres. (I'm not trying to be location-specific in any way, I used very broad terms. im simply describing how these fields are set up not only for easy access, but also for complete privacy without worries of being spotted during a hunt) The road is about 5 miles long, i'd say, and it just dead ends.
And to think, I had such a successful hunt, wait till the next rain.

Excuse my ignorance but wtf is a cope? I understand it's an active but gimmie the specs.. do they look different from each other? The only shrooms I found lately are the ones in my mono tub.. ;D

Cope=Copelandia cyanescens. Very potent. Will be found along the gulf coast in the same habitat as cubes. Search posts, especially by mjshroomer and yessup, both of whom have posted lots of great pictures of this species.

For Hightimesreader, A cope is short for Copelandia cyanescens. They grow on cow patties in the spring thru late fall. Look here:

The Peaceful Nomad once posted pictures here of Cubensis growing in a Kansas dung heap, during winter with snow on the ground right next to the shrooms. That was the most amazing Cubensis find i've ever seen on this message board. He had many pictures to prove it and people still doubted him. Others began insinuating that he cultivated them outdoors and then brought it to the hunting forum claiming it was a wild fruiting. I knew it was the truth tho because i was friends with him for many years back in Florida, and the Nomad would never do that.
His patch was also about 4 pounds in the pictures.

hey im from Michigan and ain't shit growin up here until early June. I wanted some actives real bad for my trip to Pensacola Beach, FL. I gave some cash to my bud and some guy ripped him off so there that goes. But in my desperation I thought I'd hit you guys up from down south. What do you think the chances would be of me finding some copes or some cubes around the Florida panhandle next week sometime? Is it easy to get your hands on some that someone else already has picked? and if so, whats an eighter cost down there? Or even if i went looking in some pastures on my way down, what would the chances be, you been gettin rain? I don't know if i should be askin those questions. But like I said, I'm desperate. Peace.

It may be good. If the panhandle got the same kind of rain that we got in Texas this week.
