A Question on Pinning

Do I have to put my jars in so much sunlight or any other condition to get pinning? Just wondering, thanks.

Are you trying to grow them in the jars? Most people take them out of the jars first, but it is certainly possible to grow them inside the jars.

Light does initiate pinning, but you don't need sunlight. Just any minor light source visible to the cakes for 10 minutes a day should suffice.

Once again I agree with Dillrod, I give my cakes at the most, 30 minutes of lamp light a day. Even with this small amount I can control their directional growth. When I don't rotate the side I place closest to the lamp, I get / angular growth.

The PF Tek said that they would start pinning in the jars, and as soon as I saw yellowish blobs starting to grow, then I was suspossed to take them out of the jars. Is that right?

Yes, if you were waiting for invitro pinning. That is what you have accomplished. Its time for "birthday" as he calls it, if you want to grow them on cakes in a terrarium.
