Question about pinning and when to birth.
    #842526 - 08/25/02 04:04 PM (22 years, 5 months ago)

My jars are completely colonized and there are mushrooms growing near the jar lid (they look like true mushrooms as opposed to pins). Is this considered pinning and I should birth? Or should I wait until there is pinning around the middle and bottom of the jar?

See picture.

Thanks!

You should have birthed a long time ago. You dont have to wait until pins appear inside the jar. To the best of my knowledge nobody lets cakes pin in the jars any more, everyone lets them pin after birthing.

Birth it RIGHT NOW! Other wise your going to have it growing invitro(sp).

PS- That thing growing inside the jar is a maturing mushroom! It was a pin ages ago!
