latest harvest
    #6846983 -

just a few pics from my latest harvest, this has been the most resinous strain i've grown yet.  The scissor hash we got was amazing and i had to wash my hands with alcohol to remove all the stick.  I'm really glad i picked up some new pruners too, the thin blades and cushy spring make it a helluva lot easier on my hands.

Decided to throw everything in the bag with a lot of stem.  My hope is that it will stay nice and moist for a bit longer then usual, ill just have to keep my eye on it.  If it starts getting too crispy ill just trim the stems and try the jar method.  Leaving the plant whole proved to be more of a pain in the ass so i just said fuck it since i was in a small rush to finish.

Hope ya enjoy em, next month i start my first SOG grow with the same strain but with an added 400 watts.  Can't wait for it

NYC Diesel from emery seeds.  Grown in FF ocean forest soil with lime, perlite, and a bit of coir.  Used grow big for veg nutes, then tiger bloom, carbo load, top max, and a tiny bit of cal mag for flower.  Strain flowered for 70 days, 50 of which were under a 600 watt lamp (my 430 blew out on me).

I kept the nutrient schedule light this time, my plants responded well to it, all my previous grows fan leaves would be super crispy and dead by day 50-55, this time i really only lost like 3 or 4 fan leaves to the crisp at around day 60.  I didn't feed them until the end of the 2nd week, then i did it every other watering for 2 weeks, then i just did carboload and top max for 2 weeks or so, then the last 3 and 1/2 weeks was spent giving them pure water.

thanks man

Hey coda, I was wondering, what caused you to harvest early?
How's the smell?
What kind of high do you expect from them(couchlock or upbeat)?

I'm planning on moving as soon as i can, im trying to clean my place up and get all this shit in one spot in prep for the move. Also my AC unit decided to stop working as well as it has been and my grow room temps were around 86, i just don't have the funds to buy a unit to cool the room. I'm expecting more of an upbeat high, most of the trichs seemed clear with a good number of cloudy ones and a few amber here and there. I'm positive this grow could have gone on for at least another week and 1/2. Smell is pretty minimal, when you open the bag it has a nice fresh smell to it, but nothing too obvious.

86deg hasn't caused any problems for me... anything below the 90's has worked fine... But that might depend on strain and whatnot..

My room gets to well over a hundred degrees F on hot days in summer, even though I only run my lights at night. The high temps just slow growth down and cause a little more stretching than usual. Cannabis is pretty tough.

You know as far as what Nast and Hanky just said I'm gonna have to agree. I don't even sweat it till it gets in the high 80's even then I just sweat it and don't do a damn thing about it cause it's never caused a problem.

Kind of look at it like this, if the high 80's let alone 90's fucked up plants there would be no bud coming from Mendocino, Humboldt, or my personal favorite Calaveras. Then also think about the  strains grown indoors. Mostly indica, and all indica comes from Afghanistan and Pakistan and they just aren't to known for there fun in the sun summers and cool tropical breezes :gethigh::sun:

Nice harvest ya got there. Back to that other thread, things don't look immature (2nd pic).

How large of a SOG are you going to put out? Do you have a mother plant or are you starting out fresh?

I was always under the impression that temps in the mid 80's to 90's caused your buds to become real fluffy and airy. I really just go by what i read (which is keep temps in the mid 70's). I'll keep that in mind for my next grows and not be so stressed about it, but hopefully my new growroom will help alleviate that problem. I think i mentioned i read some plans that use a 1000 watt in a 3x3 space and it's possible to keep the temps at 75 with lamps on.

Mike- Planning on a 25 plant sog grow under 1000 watts HPS. I have ten plants right now which can be cloned of the diesel variety, i have a heavy duty mother that can put off at least 20 clones if not more.

As soon as your clones root put them under the light at 4 per sq foot. You can put 36 under the light.

yah, that was the plan, root clones, veg for 5 days in a small cup, then transplant to 1 gal grow bags.

My lazy ass doesn't even give em the 5 days. I don't know if space is the issue but if possible forget the cups and go straight into the bags.

No, the idea behind the 5 days in the cup was to give the clones roots time to adapt and grow through some soil medium.

small update.

On day 3 of drying and buds are still completely wet, in fact the bottom of the bag was very damp when i moved things around today. Usually at this point the buds are almost dry enough to smoke, i checked the humidity gauge and it clocked in at 41%. That's eleven percent higher then normal, i usually dry in a bag in my bedroom, but this time i stuck the bags in the flowering chamber, temps are around 70.

Anyways, im definitely getting a much slower dry right now so im very happy with the progress. Hopefully this will increase any flavor and give me some of the aesthetic qualities i've been longing for.

Thanks for everyone's help and advice, i truly appreciate it!
