Unread replies is still messed up

Example: the thread in this forum, "Suggestion".

There was 1 reply, but I decided not to read it at the time; then I checked back later and the "unread replies" column was indicating another unread reply (making the number in the "unread replies" column "2")--but what had actually happened was: it renewed the last old reply (the reply before the actual unread one). That was kind of a complicated example--I think read replies, in general, seem to just get renewed, randomly.

Hmm I haven't noticed this but it's entirely possible I'm just not observant enough. I'll see if I can duplicate the bug or figure out what might be wrong.

Oh, and this goes for the actual forum the thread's in AND "My Threads"...but, at least we know there's no problem with the synchronicity between "My Threads" and the actual forums.

I've always had problems with the unread posts

a lot of times threads will still be marked as unread even I've clicked them over and over, signed out then back in, restarted the browser, etc...

I just learned to deal with the annoyance

It's caused by having someone on ignore, it will show 1 reply but there will be no post. If you reply to "last post" you can see who it is.

As have I... and I don't have anybody on ignore... I don't want to admit how many hours I have spent trying to find this bug... the big problem is that I can't ever reproduce it consistently to isolate the cause. Sometimes it gets really bad and other times I don't notice a problem for months on end.

it isn't consistent at all, not even on a daily basis


it also happens both when there is little to no traffic or high traffic
