Thunderfuck is right, too much water is just inviting bacterial (or otherwise) contamination. You COULD try to put a layer of dry verm ontop of your cakes to absorb some of the moisture from the cakes, although opening your jars will subject them to even more possible contaminants. Since you've already innoculated wait a week or two and see what happens, they might grow. If nothing appears after 2 weeks open the jars and smell them. Anything but BRF smell and/or mushroom smells is a bad thing, start over. If you can't wait 2 weeks, just start over now and save yourself some time, they'll probably get contaminated if they are too moist.

Water logged substrate is bad. Now they'll probably get contamninated. You should have started over again.

Hey again, Julius-

I've decided to bag my waterlogged batch... the brown rice flour looks ugly and in some patches looks a different color. I'm getting a little growth of mycelium, but I don't think they stand a chance. I'll set them aside and see what happens. Not holding my breath.

I'm returning to the boiling method of sterilization... my pressure cooker is a freaking headache! Luckily I have 2 Eq sporeprints so I can handle losing one syringe-full on this bad batch.

Thank you, all! I've decided to just be patient and see what happens. GT, good to hear from you! Sorry about the pressure cooker. I didn't mention it, but I constructed a HEPA filter box which my substrate jars went into immediately. Perhaps there is still hope then?
