Cheap ballasts?

Apparently the ballast I had purchased from someone here got damaged in shipping and is very unsafe to use. Can someone recommend a place to get a cheap replacement? I need a 400 watt for an HPS bulb. Most of my generic web hits are putting me in the 150 dollar range and that just seems high for just a ballast.

Ebay, I paid less than U.S$100 for my last 600w ballast, brand new.

in the past i bought them from large stores closing out, or moving locations. age varies i guess. but i got as many as i wanted and 400 watt for $10 each....with a (old & crappy) bulb.

Why not go to your local electrical supplier?? Just ask them for a raw 120 volt HPS ballest. The bulbs they sell at the supplier are just as good as the ones at hydro stores aswell and far less in price.

their price is 70 on 400hps , venture is a good brand with decent specs (similar to sola (probbly your original equip))

how was it damaged? if electrically this would be a simple fix. hell, you can even step up if needs bee
