So I had a lucid dream last night

I almost woke up when I realized what was going on, but I managed to stay asleep.

The scene was me back in middle school during my 8th grade year. That's what triggered my awareness - anytime I'm back in my old town with my old friends (my deepest desire) I know that I'm dreaming.
I didn't know what to do, so I decided to ask someone what it was like to be a character in a dream. I just saw Waking Life for the first time this week so I guess that's where that particular question came from. I asked a good looking girl who I didn't know and she responded with a completely unrelated answer. Then I walked up to a girl that I did know and she responded the same way. So I don't really think I got my answer.

I just figured I would share that experience..

By the way, I didn't put this in P&S because there's really nothing Philosophical or Spiritual about it as far as I can tell. If it's wrong though, will a mod please take care of it?

I had a dream that I was eating what I think was mushrooms in front of one of my old friends mother. I think we were either at a daycare or like a waiting room for a doctors office. fucking odd

while on the subject of lucid dreams, I just watched vanilla sky last night for the first time since it was in theaters. Man that movie is great, I woke up thinking about it.

i always try to impress my dream characters with my ability to make things float at my will like jedi powers but its funny because sometimes they have real reaction like holy fucking shit and other times they just don't give a damn. Always cracks me up.

yeah i had this dream where i was sitting in this room with a bunch of people real bored(how we got there is to long to explain0 when this lady across the room tells me to come over. i go over and she says "hey, i think *mumble* *mumble* *mumble*..." So i ask here what she said and she whispers in my ear "i think your in a dream" at which point i realize, hey i am in a damn dream. It was quite hilarious and the only time that has ever happened to me.

yea I've had the same experience--dream characters never care that they're not real, they just ignore the issue.

Here's a fun thing to try in lucid dreams: take drugs. I'm serious. Once I tried to conjure up some DMT to smoke, but I just got this blue shit all over my hands. Then I realized I had San Pedro growing at my house, so I flew there, crushed a cactus down to a pulp with my hands, and ate it. I went walking up the hill towards my old school, and sure enough, the green leaves began to shimmer and grow, and I began to trip. It was DAMNED CLOSE to a real mescaline trip too, pretty awesome.

I've taken LSD in a dream before. I don't have a real life experience to compare the dream trip to, but it was definitely an awesome experience regardless.

It's funny how you can actually trip in dreams. My acid dream wasn't even lucid. For some reason I was just randomly at my house taking it and then tripping.

i've taken lsd in dreams many times before, one particular time I was hallucinating a lot, and one hallucination I had was so vivid, so real, and so much more intense than any hallucination i've ever had in real life.

in my experience, this one lucid dream stands out amongst all others.. i was sitting on my roof (not the beginning of the dream), and i saw this guy peek his head around the corner of a sign, like i was supposed to follow him.  i flew down there and he ran into a building.  so i went into the building and there were all these people with their limbs hacked off, and they wanted me to put them back on their body :confused:.  i then saw the guy again peek his head around a corner and i just kept on chasing him, but never caught him.

I've never been able to have lucid dreams (but I'm still trying, I only just became aware of them recently) but I've always wondered something.

If you pinch yourself in a lucid dream, do you actually wake up?

^^ never tried.. ive tried meditating in a lucid dream and everything went black, and a bunch of weird shit happened rapidly, then i woke up..

ha you only wake up if u wanna wake up. if you are good at lucid dreaming and have had lots of practice there is no difference between waking reality and the dream reality(well besides controlling things) Everything is just as real. Smell,taste TOUCH, hearing, seeing and emotion. Remember if you can do it in waking life you can do it in a dream so pinching is not the best of tests.

I dunno, in my experience, seeing is a lot more real than touch. I feel kind of numb, my dream body is definitely less sensitive to touch than my real one. I watch stuff happen, but don't feel it. Cactus spines don't feel sharp, for example. Thats just in my experience.

yeah ive got some celea 10x as well, in my experience it doesn't help as much with lucid dream, it makes dreams real vivid and intense but i can never become lucid in them as they are way to crazy. I think im gonna try mugwort. and you should look up techniques on making your dreams more real, im to lazy to type.
