Had My First Lucid Dream
    #1890791 - 09/07/03 01:30 PM (13 years, 3 months ago)

It was incredible. I've been trying for about a two months. I've tried the light switch trick, and other methods, but what finally worked for me was looking at the sky. After I became lucid, I tired to get rid of everything around me, but I didn't have that much control, however I was able to get rid of the people around me. After that I just walked through me old childhood neighborhood and looked at the sky, it was amazing; it looked cloudy, but there were surges of colors running through the sky and colored dots would form swirling patterns. The only strange thing that happened to me was a man appeared and said "I know you're dreaming, come with me", he had a big machine strapped to his chest that he was manipulating. In retrospect I should have gone with him, but in the dream it scared me so I put up my hand and tried to make him go away, and I was successful. After that I decided to make it X-mas, and all the houses had X-mas lights up, but right after that I woke up (my upstairs neighbor was stomping around). Not sure if there are any other lucid dreamers here, but just felt like sharing it anyway.

I go lucid monthly, my roomate also does. I would start keeping a Dream log right now. As soon as you wake up hold completely still and rumage your mind for all dreams when you think you have a good hold on them write them down, they will start becoming more and more vivid and you after you notice your progress you could very well become on your way to being fully lucid. There is many good and bad books on this subject, if you are serious about getting into this I would recommend some kind of book. I'd go to the S&P forum and ask around, you don't want to waste your time with any Fluff. Good luck and enjoy, it's a strange realm and when I'm not being such a freaking pot head they come alot easier but I need all the vices I can get my hands on right now so I haven't been keeping up my logs, oh well...

Do what Adom says.. keep a log of all your dreams. The second you wake up, write down every little bit and detail of any dream you can remember at all. Do this as much as possible. This helps greatly

Flying kicks ass.

But I don't have lucid dreams to start with. Does writing down your non-lucid dreams open the way to being having lucid dreams?

The first time i ever had a lucid dream it absolutley blew me away, i deffinitly started writing all my dreams down as soon as i woke up, youd be surprised how you can sometimes go weeks remembering dreams nightly, i went out and bought "exploring the world of lucid dreaming" by Stephen leberge, it goes into all kinds of techniques, ive yet to read it completely yet, but my god lucid dreams are amazing.

Learyfan all I can say is ... YES!!! the point here is figuring out your waking reality between your sleeping reality, they are both completely relavent in your Life and Spiritual evolution if you are willing to partake in such things/or believe in them. Keeping a log is a huge first step and I noticed huge differences in the first weeks of my original logs. There is no reason to worry that you won't experience being lucid because you never have, it will come when you are ready, I believe they happen for a reason and when you put forth effort you will see the benifits of your own efforts.

i remember a very strong dream i had just recently. not sure if it was truely lucid, but it did feel like i had some control. i was in the ocean, swimming with other animals, and i just sort of put my hands at my side and pointed my self downward. then i dove deeper and deeper and it felt almost like i was flying. very strong feeling of diving straight down into the deep ass ocean. like i was holding an anchor and just going with it. it was pretty cool and i still remember it from like 2 weeks ago.
