Trouble sleeping
    #6651442 -

For the last week or two I have been having lots of trouble getting to sleep when I want to. It feels like I'm tired but when i go to sleep i just cant stop thinking about shit.Tomorrow I'm going to start going to the gym. Are there any other non-chemical ways to help yourself sleep?

you just have too much energy. your body stores it waiting for you to do something strenuous. maybe it's because of the warmer weather your body is expecting something. if you dont use it, youll just be on 'standby' mode forever; never awake, never asleep.

you need to exercise. lifting is ok. cardio will knock you out. youll be like, damn it's only 7pm but im goin to bed!

I have the same problem, because I'm off weed right now. All my nights are the same. I tend to get very sleepy around 11pm-12am and when I go to bed I just lay there and can't stop thinking. After hour or more I usually get up again and my sleepy feeling is completely gone. Then I usually chill at my computer till 5.30-6.00 and then I go to bed and feel really sleepy, but never get to sleep before 8.00. At 1pm I'm awake again. I'm lucky my work starts at 5pm not 8 or 9 am. It's really fatiguing in longer terms. I have plenty of sleeping aids, but I don't like to take them very often, maybe once or twice in week. One of my friends has fucked his sleep with pills completely. He has to take 1 seroquel and 1 or 2 rivotrils every night to get any sleep. If I would take so much pills at once I would probably be knocked out for days...

I'm exactly the same,, i didn't get to sleep last night till 7am this morning (if that makes sense,, ),, i was up at one.
I'm in a constant battle with it because the majority of the time i need to be up early, so every other week i have to force myself to stay up all day/night/day then i fall asleep early that night, that resets everything.

Once the hours start creeping forward and i'm sleeping later and later by the day i find it impossible to pull it back.
Only way ive found so far is to have a binge drink, then the next day i feel that rough there's a good chance i'll drop off earlier,, it's not very healthy though.

Fuckin sucks !

It's definitely psychological so i don't think treating it with pills would help 'much'.
Even if i do take something i end up sitting there enjoying the buzz until they've worn off,, lol.

For me, I wake up at 5am and sleep at 10pm. That way I start the day early and end it on time.

Stay away from stimulants, and avoid excersize and eating after sundown. Best advice I can give you.

I used to sleep like shit every night until I got on a sleep schedule. I get up at ~8:30am every day whether I have to for class or not. I go to sleep at ~12:00am every day whether people are still awake or not. I can sleep very well now and I wouldn't trade that for any amount of trivial stimulation gained by staying up or sleeping in.

yeah i agree you just got to much energy. Start exercising or running around in the afternoon so by the time you are ready to sleep you can pass out. Do you eat food late?

What is "shit"? (In this/that context.)

Tell me about your thoughts?

I got LOTS and LOTS of experience with this.
