Need help with honey tek

I had planned to put the remaining 5 cc's of my taz into some honey and see if I could get it to work. Once the jar has about a golf ball size mass in it I was going to suck it up with a sringe and put in some 50/50 in a flower pot I have outside under a tree (our temps have been about 85-90) and cover with seran wrap. will this work and once the pot is 100% can I just take off the wrap and let them go? thanx for any help

The reason honey is used in a liquid culture is because it is very resistant to contams when it's undiluted. IMHO I don't think your idea will work. If it would then preserving fresh mushrooms in honey would just make the honey become colonized by mycellium.

You'd probably be better off saving your syringe and just starting a few cakes with it

If your talking about using pure honey.. you will be wasting your syringe. You can increase your innoculant by using a 4% honey/water solution, But it will not colonize your 50/50. 50/50 is primarily casing with little to no nutrients... You could mix some BRF in it and sterilize it... it might colonize then, if the temps are fairly stable. If it does colonize... you still have to have a temp drop to initiate pinning.
