I wonder FG, how are black folks going to feel welcome in the forum you moderate when they see you using hate filled racist language in OTD, especially when that language is quoted in other forums?

If you are abusive to folks in OTD, and you mod another forum, then you are still an "abusive mod". No matter where you go, there you are.

OTD is spreading it's vile poison beyond the the forum designed to contain it. This thread is just another example of the disturbing trend.

OTD is like rectal cancer that is in the process of matastasizing thoughout the body. The cancer in the ass of the shroomery has already spread into the moderator forum, and it is now attacking WAF.

Just because a behavior is legal does not make it right. Just as a behavior being illegal does not make it wrong. One would hope that this community would be open minded enough not to succumb to the error of legalism. One would hope a moderator at the shroomery would make the good of this community a priority, judging his own actions by that criterion, rather than by whether or not said actions a barely allowed by the rules.

The language wasn't hate-filled, and it is really a non-issue, in that the situation you describe does not exist. I'm not the individual who quoted the language and it is subsequently not my responsibility. Another moderator should feel free to remove it, and I'm sure you understand why I have not personally removed it. It was posted within OTD and was to remain in OTD, and now a malicious puppet has propagated it in another forum.

Its OTD. Ythan himself has referred to a member in OTD as a "big fat raging bitch". It might be abusive language, yet I could not consider Ythan to be a abusive administrator, as he was posting in OTD.

OTD didn't spread anything beyond its forum. It isn't as though OTD rolled into WA&F and started posting abusive comments - a malicious puppet who could not appreciate the forewarning he received concerning the content of the forum in question chose to make a thread here, including the comments. I would appreciate it if that difference is discerned because this situation addresses myself and my position as moderator.

Clearly OTD is a part of this community, even if it exists within the community sub-category of the forums and does not, in itself, pertain to mushrooms. It is specifically intended for the type of behavior that is called into question in this thread, and there has been absolutely no direction given that moderators are not permitted to post in OTD in such a manner. A moderator making such comments does not serve as a detriment to this community unless you presume that the existance of OTD itself is a detriment to this community, which, of course, is more than likely.

I've personally never seen any reason to think of Liz in a negative manner, but I'm only really aware of her due to her posts about her ferrets. :heart:

I consider myself to contribute to the community in a productive and positive manner in any other forum, especially the one that I moderate, yet I was posting within OTD with the assumption that any other user who would be participating with or viewing the forum was well-aware of the nature of the content that they were being exposed to.

I am not a racist individual and I am not someone who derives pleasure from inflicting harm onto another human being. Insulting each other is something that young lads often engage in with their pals, all in good fun, of course. Perhaps I have an immature side of me that occasionally likes to sit back with some friends and give each other a good roast. How many of us have been teenagers before? 

I see OTD as being a place for that, and I see the disclaimer in the forum index as fair warning to anyone who might become emotionally upset over the content that they will perceive and who will not grasp it for what it really is.

Nah, you have no problem being holier-than-thou and forcing your ideals on everyone else. You never have before and you certainly don't now. There's no misinformation there.
