sounds like your just repeating what you read somewhere. prove to me that stress causes a higher alkaloid content. also mashing something up that is not digestable doesnt make it digestable. sorry to get on you entheodome but false info is no good for any of us. especially when something is in a grey area we dont need to cause it more problems then it already has. i would suggest you do some plant research and then come back. also just out of curiosity what makes you think stress produces alkaloids? if that was the case i would imagine the vendors would be selling the most damaged sun burned, water deprived, bruised, possibly nutrient burned almost dead cacti. i bet those would be the shit right? oh yeah you mentioned pests i presume you mean insect damage. the only way mescaline would hurt a insect is by dehydrating it after you convert it to a salt. if you were correct then why should any of us worry about insect damage if it such a insecticide. you are talking myths like those guys who thought putting nails in cannabis trees would make the herb stronger. possibly uv rays may make cacti stronger but that sure doesnt relate to insects. also if the right nutrients arent present it cant manufacture what you want anyway.

i think you took this a bit further than what i was implying.was not trying to start a fight.i give you a plus when you said even something mashed is undigestible.i agree with the tea.just saying that what's the point of adding the core if there is nothing good in it.my thoughts on alkaloid content with stressed cacti is from what i have witnessed.like i said before the alkaloids build up more during stressed times as our own bodies do with white blood cells.the alkaloids are in the skin, correct? well the outer skin is more prone to defend off PESTS at weaker times of the season when water is low by the plant producing more alkaloids for defense.have you ever tasted something alkaline?go lick the stuff around a car battery.alkaline is alkaloids and all alkaloids warrant off pest.maybe you should do some reading.i see you have many posts so you do read alot, but maybe it is just here and you just get opinion unlike myself.

would you buy a stressed specimen from a retailer?also stressed never implied sun burned ,etc...do yourself some scientifical research about alkaloids.under watering causes stress and the specimen does not have to be prunified.example,my pachanoi's right now from a gas chromatography analysis show more alkaloid content than in summer and fall because they have been sitting in a dark room over winter because of frost.no water ,still healthy.when you get a gas chromatograph you can start asking me of proof and bash me.until then maybe you should go with hear say explanations.i'm not some kid at home behind a computer .

what happens to phalaris arundanacea when it gets water deprived?it produces more alkaloids to live and sustain life like trichocereus pachanoi.alkaloids are a defense mechanism.

sorry man, i had a rough night and was probably a little irritable. i still however disagree with stressed cacti producing more alkaloid. dehydrated cacti, yes. thats just because of the water ratio. also i think high pressure liquid chromotagraphy would give a better read then gas. thats great though if you do have access to gas chrmotography equipment.
