What happens when you pickle a cube?

So my second grow with poo and WBS is starting to show a most stisfactory pinset and is undoubtedly going to be the best yield I've ever produced. {Thank you to all the old vets and yor infinite knowledge}

Well, I just went down to the salad bar for lunch and grabbed a scoop of marinated mushrooms among other things and started wondering what would happen if I tried to pickle some of my cubies. I rarely trip, and I'm not a fan of selling, so I'm kinda looking for a different way to keep them in a moist state (ie. Not drying). I much prefer to munch them wet and am familiar with storing them in honey, but I thought some marinated or pickled shrooms would be good. So would soaking them in vinegar possibly preserve them or would it remove the psilocybin? would it just turn them to mush? What about oil?

I would say all of the sodium they use to pickle things would kill all the actives.

Pickled mushrooms are cooked in vinegar and not just dropped in raw so the heat might be a small problem.  Also, Psilocybin is soluable in acetic acid and would tend to move out of the mushrooms and into the brine over time.  But other than that I think it would work well.  Just follow the directions for pickled mushrooms, use only very young firm specimens (buttons) and expect the brine to become hallucinogenic (use it as the base for a salad dressing :wink: ) and the mushrooms to lose some potency from partial extraction by the vinegar.

If you plan to store them for any length of time, keep them in the fridge and out of the light.
