A few questions on fruiting

I have 7 pf tek eq strain cakes in my fruiting chamber. They were all added 6 days ago. 2 of the cakes have around three or four large 4-5" mushrooms growing. 3 of the cakes have 4 or 5 smaller 1-2" mushrooms, and 2 cakes still haven't grown anything. No primordia, abhorts, nothing...... Should I consider dunking or cold shocking the no shows ? Or just give them more time ?

Another question: I am reading up on preservation techniques. I bought a container of Damp Rid dessicant and am confused on the best way to dry them. If I put the dessicant in the bottom of a tupperware container, leave a 1" gap or so above, and make a chicken wire mesh screen to put the shrooms on, with a tight lid - Does the moisture get absorbed into the dessicant ? The MMGG says there should be a space underneath the dessicant for the water to collect, PF TEK makes no mention of needing space underneath the dessicant. Any pointers would be appreciated. Thank you.

Wait on those cakes...They can grow at different times like that...its normal...as for drying just get a container and some chicken wire....make 2 shelves....1 with dessicant on some paper towels and 1 above that with shrooms on paper towels...or if you dont have enough chicken wire you can lay a bunch of paper towels down spread out some desicant on that then lay a layer of paper towels directly onto that with the shrooms on that....works great
