salt as dessicant
    #413867 - 10/04/01 04:19 PM (23 years, 4 days ago)

i'm not near the drying stage, but i just thought of this.

can one use salt as the dessicant in a PF style drying chamber (i.e. closed tupperware, wire rack, wet shrooms on rack, dessicant underneath)? i know salt is a dessicant and preservative if you put it right on foods, but will it work for keeping the air in a chamber dry too?

Yes and that tek has already been established. I forgot the member's name but check for it, I read it like a few days ago. Well, thegist of it is you bake epsom salt, place a paper towel(or screen) over it, then cover it up. In like 3 days you have super dried shrooms! I'm in the process of doing it now.
