Ive been waiting sooo long for a digi cam and I went for a quick hunt thisarvo and collected the two different species at different locations.
 P.Australiana or Euculipta, P.Subagaurosa(fern variety), P.Subagaurosa
Compare mushrooms, Darker cone like caps for the P.Australiana on right and lighter brown for the P.Subs on left.
These are the Unidentified Psilos that grow from fern mulch, notice delicate stems and cap.

mmm...Great find and thanx for the print!! Looking at the top and bottom pics the species is certainly unique - very pointy cap which is a characteristic of Australiana as described by Guzman. Other characteristics are uplifting of the cap, orangish cap colour, pronounced nipples (i like!) and veil remnants along the cap margin - maybe you have a new species there?? Ill let you know how they perform on agar! Maybe this scetch will help:

Certainly have the same umbo as that sketch - but then again some Subaeruginosa varieties have a similar umbo...

I did notice a very obvious veil remnants along the cap margin when I picked those darker P.Australiana, a very beutiful looking mushroom when in their natural habitat. Whats the best way to dry this species cause I heard they have unusual levels of baectocin,Psilocin that break down easily if not dried properly? Time to test some out!!!

mmm. ive never read much on analysis of Australiana - ive been told that they are mildly potent and this was confirmed by a friend who has found these. However the specimens that i have found that were identified as POSSIBLE Australiana due to the fat that i now doubt this claim were similar in potency to Subs... Ill grow them out and see what i can find - keep us informed!!
