I dont personally have one, but i dont think there is much to it.

As far as i know, you pay a non refundable $600 fee

take some classes or maybe just one class

then your registered and good to carry.

(Ohio, at least)

i have nothing against concealed weapons permits, IF YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING. ive seen a lot of people talk about wanting to carry a knife or a gun. in reality, they would just get themselves into an escalated situation they really dont know how to handle.

In Texas
I don,t remember the fee, and this was about 10 years ago.
but it was attending a class at the gun range,
after spend a few hours , a man from the state judged
your shooting skills. If you passed, he took the fee,
fingerprinted you, and had a background check done.
If all went well, the card would arrive in a few weeks.

I can only speak for Colorado and the county I'm in, but here is what I had to do:

1. Fingerprint card at sheriff's office, sent to FBI and check for felony records at the local and federal level. Cost $35.00

2. Gun Safety class with local authorized educator. One class over a weekend. Cost $85.00

3. Registration of weapon being carried, including serial numbers of all firearms, regardless of whether or not you intend to carry it concealed.

That's it in a nutshell. It was pretty easy actually.

Gun + drugs = LOTS AND LOTS OF JAIL TIME

do not have a gun in the same house as your drugs, i dont care if its a fucking roach, and you gun has a trigger lock, in a gun case, with no ammo.

this usually evokes a mandatory minimum for sentencing also.
