a pretty unlikely scenario since most criminals like to carry
concealed as opposed to open carry, when I lived in atlanta I
carried openly, walked into a cuban restaurant, the owner came
over and started talking to me regarding my pistol and the
laws, being a business owner that had been robbed a couple
times he was considering buying one himself, strangely enough
no one in the establishment, no one on the streets or anywhere
else seemed to panic when I carried openly, more people tended
to react when I carried concealed and the gun printed through
my shirt


in this state, other than Denver, you can open carry without a license.

i would assume maybe people just think you are law enforcement, although i dont carry open, i dont carry because of no permit at the moment.

once upon a time, carrying a gun was expected, not an oddity

thats is kinda one of the reasons people including myself openly carry a firearm. when people see it they tend to act like they have half a brain and think twice about fuckin up. i think she handle the situation right, they asked her to watch from the opposite side of the field and she did, she didnt just put it in the car. and for those that think she should have put it up in the car what if somethin happend and seh was lets just guesstimate 300 feet away from it do you think she could get to it in time to actually do anyhting....no....and i know what you"re thinkin its a kids soccer game for christs sake but wierd and crazy shit happens all the time you never know when you will need it. :2cents:

Thats what I was thinking.  If some crazed lunatic came to make the news by shooting up a kids soccer game, she would be the only person standing in his way.
Like the situation at Tech (a lot of my high school friends went to Tech, I live like 3 hours away so it was on the news here a lot more than most of the country), if even one person had been strapped, that day may have gone differently.

Fortunately the odds of getting shot at a soccer game here are virtually 0 so the need to get to my gun wouldn't be an issue.
