Do not just stop drinking. Then you will leave a "open gap/hole"...
And feel empty? Like something is missing?
Mind the gap, and fill it!
Ever done yoga?
What does your closest friends do when they do not drink?
So many factors.
One last question: Could you explain to me in great detail, WHY you drink?
BTW: I drank too much before. Everyday. Till my money ran out. I bet there is no problem there!

Okay there is no doubt about it, and I wouldn't try to kid yourself or tell yourself otherwise because likely, thats just the alcohol talking.
You deffinitly are an alcoholic.
If this is the least you've dranken in 5 years then that means you had to have started drinking at age 13 or less. If you've cut down to a half-rack of beer per night and this is the least you've dranken in 5 years AND you talk about drinking bottles of hard alcohol, then were you you drinking Hard A every night and sometimes in the day? Most likely. Your liver has probably aged so much already. There is (or was; don't know where he is now)a kid who lives here who you remind me of. He would drink every single day, sometimes during the day, sometimes at night, oftentimes it was both. He has gotten atleast 15 minor consumings because he likes it so much. Ofcourse he doesn't have a job or anything has nothing going on for him anymore. He went to the hospital and they told him that he had already done serious damage to his liver and if he didn't quit soon, he could injure himself furthur or even die.He was 19. Somehow he is still alive as far as I know and still drinks alot I'm sure, I don't think I or anyone else I know could imagine that guy without alcohol in his life.
Now just because your of legal age doesnt make it any different. I'm sure if you weren't of age you would have had a run-in with the police or trouble with friends/family through your 5 years of binge drinking (or have you already?). Don't try to deny yourself that you have a problem. I'm sure you catch yourself thinking sometimes that spending a day without drinking would be "boring" and its just so easy to drive to the store and buy it, but seriously man have some self control!
You've got plenty of years ahead of you to do great things, don't let something stupid like drinking end it prematurely.

I pretty much agree with everybody else here. By what you have shared with us its is obvious your an alcoholic. You seem to acknowledge that to an extent but yet your reluctant to believe it. Your gift of life is to precious to waste over any substance. You should take every piece of advice in this thread to heart. I can only hope you will make the right choices. Good luck
