my first San Pedro

i have just ordered 3, 6 inch cuttings from bouncing bear botanicals.(for starters)
i have a few questions i need answered...

1- what is the quality i should be expecting?
2- what is the normal potency of the san pedro from this company?
3- will i be able to consume them as soon as i get them, and if so how much should i eat? (after drying of course)

4- how should i begin to set up my garden?

5-i havent ever been on a mescaline trip before, should i be expecting similar effects to LSD, DMT, and/or mushrooms, or better? also what could i do to enhance the effects?

also, if there are any other things i should be aware of, please list them here.

1- Lovely, well-growing plants
2- bunk and bunker
3-yes but it will be a waste

4- big pots, lots of perlite, sandy compost soil, if its outdoor, rocky, sandy, compost.
5-get bridgesii or peruvians from someone OTHER than BB.
BB is THE notorious purveyor of ethnobotanically insignificant cacti sold as potent.
THE most to blame for the market being full of t. cuzcoensis being sold as "peruvians"

I would not buy peruvians from them at all.

im only planning to consume one of these cacti, just to feel out the trip, the other two i plan to grow into my mother plants, unless i decide to buy larger ones. im just wondering what type of effect i should be expecting from one of the 6 inch cuttings.

and yes i was planning on getting some peruvians, i actually have a connection to a straight peruvian cacti gardener, so i plan to go with him.(i have heard too many rumors of bad peruvian cacti from BBB)i think i may already have bridgesii, but had to cut it down though from rot, im hoping it will grow back.

what do u mean by bunk and bunker? lol

i tend to disagree about "bunk" san pedro. my first t.pachnoi came from this company. well it does have a high alkaloid content. however there bad reputation comes from there "peruvianus" which is a non-active t.cuzcoensis. i have not tried there t. macrogonus which looks a little more promising. also there t.bridgesii also has a decent alkaloid content but i found my cutting of t.pachnoi to be stronger from this company. :smirk:

The San Pedros from BBB tend to be very healthy and atractive. If you want to trip you will need to take 12". If you get center cuts, I would suggest you plant them, wait for 2-3 new cactus to start growing, then consume the mother plant. Lots of good tecs out there for preparing san padro for consumption. If you boil it down, be sure to use distilled water.

yeah, im not gonna be able to boil them down, as im not living on my own at the moment, and dont want to arouse suspicion, if i was on my own, id just move to where i could find some peyote lol. i plan to eat it right after its dried completely, which i hear ups the alkaloidal content.


one thing i forgot to ask, do i just stick it in the ground after the wound has callused over or do i have to wait to see roots?

Wait a week or so after wound heals, then plant it. good luck
