are you running it on a Mac or PC?
I love the sofware however don't have the computing power to full enjoy it... horrible latency problems with MIDI.
It is a totally rad program.
I've been having fun with tunafish lately.

i have a novation x station and find the reason interface to be great with this keyboard... my computer is just a little too slow and i can't free up enough space to make it run smoothly. I have a friend who used a little mac powerbook and his latency issues are very minimal.

I love Reason 3.0. I can't seem to get any badass sounds from the synths but I blame that on lack of practice. I know how to program a synth, just not well  :naughty:

get ableton live, too control the reason interface. AbletonLive and Reason go hand in hand.

I use a M-Audion Keystation 49e. It was $100.00 at GC. Works just fine, although it doesn't have Aftertouch. I would absolutely reccomend you get one that has as many hardware capabilities as you can, because you can't add that stuff later.

man, the m-audio trigger finger, or the mpc24 are sick control interfaces. korg makes nice versitile keyboards for farely cheap aswell.

Yeah I have the Trigger Finger as well. I would reccomend however that you spend the extra cash and just get a badass keyboard with sliders, knobs, and drum pads all on it.

I'm checking out some of the M-audio stuff on eBay...most seems around a $200 range, which is good for me..

i don't really need anything serious right now,and i need to fit an external hard drive on that budget to make some more space for the plug ins and shit.,well that and i still suck using reason, hah

ya, I love Reason, it's a sweet program. I recommend getting Cubase SX for the vst synths.

I tried the rewire thing for one track but didn't really like it. besides that you computer has to run 2 big programs at the same time. If you want to try this first compose your track fully in Reason and when you finish it do all the final mixing and mastering in Cubase trough rewire for better quality.

Now I just use Cubase SX with VST plugins and it's really working out for me

yeah just got reason, i tried it before but didn't really do much because i didn't have a midi keyboard at the time.

But i got reason 3 and it seems pretty good i use sonar 6 and a bunch of vst/vsti's.

The only thing about reason that they could improve on is having a few more synths cos theres only 2, but the sampling units are really cool , that's what i'll use it for mostly i think.
I've got lots of vsti synths anyway so it's all good.

So is reason really only worth playing with if you have a midi keyboard input device? Cuz I've checked out reason before and damn but that looks like one hell of a steep learning curve to climb. Are there any decent tutorials to get started? The last program even remotely similar I've used was Scream Tracker years and years ago, heh.
