shrooms illegal in japan from june 6

any shroomers in japan, i suggest you stock up.
the govt has announced a june 6 deadline on the sale of shrooms, importing spores will also be illegal.
from then on they will be viewed the same as any other illegal drug.
whether this will be enforced or not remains to be seen, they banned beer vending machines 4 years ago but there are at least 10 within 100meters of my building.
as for chems (2ct7) and salvia, no mention at all.
the ban results from a number of mishaps related to people on shrooms, 2 accidental deaths (a guy froze to death in a muddy ditch) and incidents such as 7 university students dosing up, getting scared and turning themselves in at the local police stn. whilst trippin out...even tho they had done nothing illegal and couldnt be charged. wonderful!

I am especially dissipointed by this news. I am arriving in Japan in September for an 8 month study program. I guess it will be a fairly uneventful year.

Not to worry, I will be posting a page at my shroom web-site listing every known japanese species of Psilocybian fungi on all four main islands in Japan with exact locations fo such species. I have also sent a copy of the pre-webpage to the Japanese Ministry of Health to let them known where the shrooms are and that they are commo in thier country.

The law was created because of several bad situations, among them was a case involoving a stupid individual who dosed an unsuspecting Japanese Teenage idol/rock star with a mushroom tea and did not tell him he was dosed and he ended up in an emergency room for treatment. This caused the egislature to ban the shrooms, but the ban wa originally based on stopping the licit sales of P. cubensis and Copelandia specie which were openly sol in several nightclud districts in Tokyo and also in vending machines on the streets.

Nice... Sold in vending machines in the streets...... I was wondering why back in grade 7 all those Japanese exchange students were ALWAYS smiling and happy.. Very nice people

one rule they introduced to prevent underaged drinking, was that beer machines had to turn off at 11pm. and indeed they do, at 11 the lights go out and it seems to be turned off...that is until you put some coins in it and all the lights come back on.

I look forward to your report mjshroomer, as I should have lots of free time to travel in and around Japan. My first planned trip is to go see Infected Mushroom in Nagano (sept 14-16). If anyone else is gonna be around Japan and wants to check it out, i'm in need of traveling partners, especially those who know the area.
