Has anyone been experimenting with polymer crystals (AGROSOKE root watering crystals) or(Co-polymer of Polyacrylamide)? I'm working with Marks PCP tek. Would like to hear about your methods - results. Will post more as things progress. Thats really cool stuff, you can't play with it and not think about adapting it to other teks.
years ago I would make resevoirs inside of pf cakes with the stuff. It worked.
But, I don't really remember if it worked a lot better than plain verm resevoirs, which didn't work enough better than plain cakes to thoroughly impress me.
I've also used them as additives to casings, again it worked, but not so much better than a well cared for casing to make a big difference. Maybe it would be very helpful in an open air neglect method though....
I wasn't very skilled back then and got contams every time I tried the PCP tek. It did interest me greatly back then, but once I learned bulk methods I stopped experimenting with other stuff as much. One thing that always worried me, and to which I often blamed my sloppy contaminations, was the lack of oxygen in mass of gel. I would heavily consider mixing some dry perlite in with the hydrated crystals to allow for some air spaces. good luck.

I just looked at my profile and realized I had a website at one point in time on geocities, it's not there anymore and I have no idea what I had on it. Anybody remember my website from several years aga? PM if so please.
