I jused used silicone for the first time and then when I was done I was like oh crap

Am I suppose to put this stuff on both sides or is it toxic to mycelium?

you should try to get the red kind, i think its called rtv

its a high temp silicone so it wont melt if pressure cooked

Wtf I have that same kind for my car I did not know that ur suppose to use that kind GOD DAMN IT >.<

I used DAP aquarium sealant and mine didnt melt...you should be ok...

I dont know if it matters, but I would get the rust off those lids too

Nearly all my jar lids are rusty and they never give me any problems

Put the silicone on both sides so it won't blow out. Clear silicone is fine for PC temperatures. The red stuff is for engines that get much hotter than the pressure cooker. Rust doesn't hurt a thing. I'm still using five year old lids that have lots of rust.
