Can I get lockjaw & die from rusty lid holes?
    #1053484 - 11/14/02 08:23 PM (14 years, 22 days ago)

Samuel Gompers, designer of the Brooklyn Bridge, was standing at the waterfront one day when a tugboat backed into the dock and crushed his toes. He contracted tetanus, which turned into lockjaw, and died.

Can I get tetanus if I cut myself on the raggedy underside of my rusty lid punch-outs?

Should I get a tetanus shot? Should I get new lids? If I get lockjaw, can I use some kind of straw tek to feed myself? Would I still get chicks?

Thanks. All serious replies welcomed.

When's the last time you had a tetnus shot? If you have had one in the last ten years, I think you are fine. About still getting chicks, don't you have to be getting them in the first place to STILL be getting them, hehehe, just fucking with you.

I had this one friend, he cased his lids in 50/50 and then when he was picking the lid-lets that grew, he cut himself pretty bad, and then he got hepatitis. I think your ok man, maybe dunk your thumb in some milk for at least six hours to be safe though...

I would think a tetanus shot would be a good idea. They are usually good for ten years or so, so check your shot records. Although I doubt that a cut from a rusty jar lid would be enough to kill ya! I'm not a doctor though.

Cant be a bad idea to get your shots if you cut yourself on anything rusty, but if it's just a little scrape, it's nothing that a little alcohol or H2O2 wont fix up.
Perhaps if you got lockjaw and could not open your mouth, you could grind up your mushrooms into a powder and snuff them, maybe mix up the powder with your straw fed grub.
No you wont get chicks anymore (at least not any hot ones) unless of course your loaded with $$$.

Hepatitis is a blood born virus, not a bacteria. I highly doubt you could get hepatitis from a rusty lid, unless someone with hepatitis had cut themselves on the same lid.

I get lots & lots of chicks.

They are magnetically drawn to my intoxicating combination of insecurity and desperation.

Hahahaha, isn't it strange how that works out. I remember back before I was pretty much married, the bigger an asshole I was, the more the girls would do. Oh well. GET YOUR SHOTS IF YOU HAVEN'T HAD THEM IN THE LAST TEN YEARS, if you have, well just sit back and smoke a bowl.

Hepatitis is actually just an inflammation of the liver.. and is caused by many things, such as a virus or batercial infections...

and really, I didn't think anyone would take me seriously after I said my friend cased his can lids in 50/50..

relax peoples

Hepatitis is a virus, not a bacteria. And it can be much more serious than just an inflamation of the liver. Ask anyone with hepatitis C. I knew your earlier post was bullshit, that's why I responded to LSAuser's post, not yours.

nope.

Hepatitis literally means inflammation of the liver..

This inflammation can be caused by virii, bacterial infection,  alcoholism, many things..

it's a common misconception

I thought a tetanus shot was standard and everyone got them and you need them to be in a public school in the US.

Tetanus treatment, besides cleaning the wound, involves eliminating the bacilli both surgically and with antibiotics, neutralizing the exotoxin with antitoxin, reducing muscle spasm, and supporting or aiding respiration. Although about 60 percent of all cases are fatal, active immunization with tetanus toxoid before an injury, with periodic reimmunization, or so-called booster injections, is extremely effective; tetanus rarely occurs in people so immunized. A series of three injections is recommended if the tetanus toxoid is combined with both diphtheria and toxoid pertussis (whooping cough) vaccine in the commonly administered DTP (diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis) injections. The supplementary booster injections should be given one year after completion of the primary immunization series and every five to ten years thereafter.

I think that the organism responsible for tetanus is an anaerobe (spelling?) Anyway that means it needs a lack of oxygen to grow and thrive. If the cut was superficial, not too deep, you should not have any trouble. Tetanus ussually occurs with deep puncture wounds.

Taken literally, hepatitis means inflammation of the liver. I was refering to the viral hepatitis which is serious shit.
In reply to:

Infectious viral hepatitis such as hepatitis A, hepatitis B, hepatitis C, hepatitis D and hepatitis E.

I did learn of some new less serious forms of hepatitis thanks to your link. Thanks.

Yeah, I knew what you meant, I was just nit picking  I agree, it is some serious stuff..

Anyway, as far as tetanus goes.. as someone mentioned, if  you haven't had a Td booster shot in the last 10 years, might not be a bad idea.. Really, I'd say just put some neosporin on it and a band-aid.. however, if you get headaches or get muscle stiffness (espcially in the jaw) within a week or so, go see the doctor.

I wonder if I got like tetanus and lockjaw, and then had to do straw-tek to eat & drink, and then made like shroom tea to dose, if I'd also have to get a tracheotomy to fire up my chronic, sucking nug smoke through the straw and covering/uncovering the hole & being like the Human Bong.

And then the babes I'd try to date couldn't require much in the way of making out. I mean, I could peck, but probably no tongue or passionate head writhing. I could do other foreplay, like rub their boobies or stiffly nuzzle their necks, but no way could I go down on them with with lockjaw. I'd just be like bumping around with my chin or tossing my hair about in a provocative manner. Highly ineffective, indeed.

I think lockjaw could also impede my career trajectory (n' shit). I'd have to work for the post office or Starbucks or something.

Maybe I'll just get that tetanus shot like you guys been saying.
