This is how my hpoo looks after 6 days....

This is going very slow, its been 6 days and looks like this. This is the second time I have ordered hpoo from tennstud but this time the hpoo smelt pretty bad. I colonized them and they are in a temp of about 78 deg in my closet.

2 quarts to a 14 qt container. But ive always done it like this and it seem to all colonize within a week.

did it feel overly wet this time?

also the bad smell may be a sign that the poo wasnt leeched correctly..or a bacterial contam...

looks like only time will tell now

I bought some pre pastuerized poo and ended up with the same results. I lost 6 trays ( 40lbs of poo :frown: ) to contams within a week of spawning . The one tray that made it took forever to colonize, like 15 days.  I was thikning it was the poo that was the problem ...I hope not,  I bought it from a reputable source. Hopefully someone with a little more experiance will chime in and shed some light on your problem and mine.

I to am using tennstud and the same shit has been happening to me I cant figure out what the problem is I think it is the Hpoo but i dont want to believe it because i love getting it pre pasturized. I am going to repasturize some this weekend and see how it turns out

some times it does. but I've never had a tray take 15 days to colonize or have 6 trays all using the same poo contam in under a week.

I am in the same boat. some bags of my TS, all from my same last order, colonized perfectly as they always had, and then some smelt a little raw, and didn't colonize at all. I'm scared to talk to mike about it because he's always had the best reputation on here for poo.

Quality control my friend, you need to speak up so that they can figure out what they are doing wrong. You'll be doing them a favor by keeping their business a success. Im certain they would want to hear from you if you got some bad shit.

Yea the lastime I ordered it it had almost no smell but this time it definitely had a smell.

I just got some poo from TS and it smelled pretty rank also...I just cased 2 days ago and man I hope it doesnt contam!!!!!!!!!!!

i ordered some tstud poo b4 also it smelt bad but he told me to let it sit a few days and it went away for the most part, colonized nicely i must say too, wbs to hpoo just to let u know and i didn't put abunch of wbs in it to make it colonize faster either or anything. Ive had many of times i went to McDonald's and got french fries and they have been alittle off but i still go back because they are so damn good! i mean come on guys, you ARE ordering horse shit off the net heh

I agree, nobody should start worrying about ordering from mike, it could have just been a bad batch. I'm sure when he reads this he will get to the bottom of it, mikes  :thumbup:

You guys need to be ordering it dry and pasteurize yourselves. Pasteurization only gives a two to three week window to get it colonized or lose it. If it was sterilized, it would last longer in the bag, but performance would suffer. I've pasteurized manure, then three or four days later without use, it already smelled bad.

It's easy as pie to pasteurize. Simply get it to the correct moisture content, then heat so the interior of the manure is at 140F to 160F for an hour. When it cools, it's ready to use.

I think it's a privacy issue people have.  I'd much rather pay a little extra and order from a reputable vendor then risk sending my personal contact info to someone who I don't really know.  But I gather all my poo myself...so what do I know about ordering it  :laugh:
