Fastest HPoo Delivery
    #7185613 - 07/16/07 10:12 PM (17 years, 6 months ago)

So things are moving a little faster than I expected. I have no hpoo at the moment. If I remember correctly tennstud can be hit or miss with the scheduled delivery time, in other words it can be rather slow at times.

Anybody know of some places that sell pre-pasteurized are consistently fast with there deliveries. Time is an issue, I will most likely be needing it in 2 weeks.

I know this doesn't answer your question but why not get some coir, once I tried coir I never went back to poo again, don't get me wrong I liked Tenn stud when I ordered in the past but but didn't like waiting when I can just run to the pet store and come right home with what I need, throw in come coffee grounds and your good to go .Poo may flush a little better but the trade off for the lack of mess and convenience of coir (Both in use and availability)make me a coir guy all the way

ok so is horse poo just used as a casing layer? I have plenty of coffee grounds and a brick of cour sitting in my trunk "gets well over 100 degrees every day here, so i guess i have a new pasterizing tek.. hahaha" and i wasnt even planning on using it for anything but now i might.

Nurseries can get it pre-pasteurized?

Could someone give me some info on some of the sponsors:

1. I have never gone through High mountain Compost before so I don't know what their speed of delivery is. I remember they are a little pricey. Is their stuff hpoo or something else?

2. I have ordered from Mycopath before but cant remember how long the package took.

3. How has TennStud been lately?

Are there any other sponsors that offer good hpoo with fast shipping?

I'm either doing an invitro or monotub and am using no casing layer. Could I still use coir. I am very unfamiliar with coir unfortunately.

Horse poo is NEVER a casing layer, its full of nutes and is a substrate material only, coir can be used in small amounts in a casing layer to help speed colonization but because it is nutritious as well it is quite pron to overlay,I'm not sure how Tenn stud has been lately but there was a post not all that long ago saying something about it so search the sponsor forum for more info, and the stuff high mountain sells is not horse poop at all but a special compost used fro growing mushrooms and that is why it is so expensive

As far as pasteurizing coir to use as a substrate you will need to do this after it is hydrated (I use my PC)

Thanks Blutjager.

I wonder if I could spawn hpoo to high mountain compost. Anyone familiar with their shipping speed.

Although I do not remember the reason why I know I remember reading how substrate to substrate transfers aren't really all that productive

Grain to grain transfers work great as long as you would VERY clean,a glovebox sprayed down with a mild (10-12%) bleach solution after you put everything you need to use in it should be just fine

Once you have nice pure white jars you could make up more grain and transfer or you could make "Grain lc" ... I personally like grain lc over grain to grain transfers because that way you end up with an entire jar full of mycelium that is just waiting for you to give it something else to eat so it can start growing again, this can also be shot into another lc medium like honey water,karo,malt/dex,etc....

I have not made a singe print in months and haven't ordered spores in a yr,make lc,actually make plenty of lc,you wont regret is and this way you still get to use the jar as spawn as you normally would even after taking the grain lc from it

Yeah, I was also told hpoo 2 hpoo transfers are unproductive. But I have found this to be untrue.

However, when I have done invitro I have spawned one bag to three other bags full of hpoo, and then those three to three of there own, making 9 bags of hpoo from one original one. Each bag was about one lb of hpoo. When I do this I will refer to it as 1st, 2nd, or 3rd generation.

When putting 1st, 2nd, and 3rd generation bags side by side to fruit I have not seen any significant differences in yield.
