LSA Extraction with odorless mineral spirits?

I'm considering doing a MG LSA extraction, but substituting Naptha with odorless mineral spirits. Seems to me, odorless minera spirits are much more pure and would leave less harmful residues behind (not that naptha would leave that much), and is closer to what might be considered "lab grade". It also seems to be more readily available. Anyone have any insight or reasons why this would be a bad idea?

Mineral spirits are used as paint thinner. They fall under the "Petroleum Ether" category like naptha.

If they are a non-polar solvent, they should work. But I hope you're right about not leaving more residue...

Well, while I'm doing a test for evaporation residue, I decided just to eat about 200 seeds. OMG, does the nausea ever go away? I'm definitely tripping, but the undercurrent of nausea sucks balls...

ok so i figured out the naptha is the non polar agent... where do they sell this product?

and what other uses does it actually have?

also when your letting the seeds sit in the non polar solvent... is there ever any need to "stir" the mixture up?

or do you just let it sit still?

ok well i have found out that the non polar solvent is zippo fluid.... how much zippo fluid do you need to mix with the seeds? enough to completly cover the ground up seeds? cover by like an inch?

what is the best/easiest POLAR solvent to obtain?

i.e. zippo fluid is obviously easy to obatain and cheap.

i dont think i have an ace hardware around.

is zippo fluid not a good non polar solvent?

isopropyl alcohol - thats just regular old rubbing alcohol right?

when soaking the ground up seeds in the liquids... how much liquid should cover them? like an inch?

this is alot of work for a gooey extraction.

what is needed to take it a step further to extract the gooey substance to a fine white powder?

zippo fluid is usualy naphtha, but it can be impure. test it the way i mentioned.

99% isopropyl is rubbing alcohol yes. dont get anything less than 91%

is there benzene in zippo fluid?

how about extracting the goo down to a fine poweder.... what is needed for that?

ok there is actually an ace hardware a few minutes away so i am going to get Ace brand VM&P naphtha

does the can actually say VM&P NAPHTHA?

is it in like a paint can?

i take it its in the paint section next to all of the othere varnishes?

its a square tin can, usualy white with a red square on the front, says Ace in the top left, and usualy reads the following:

VM&P
Naphtha
Pure

if i add say a full cup, will it extract any more bad particles than say half a cup will?

or is it the multiple times of washing that really does the trick?

what about extracting it to a powder? what is required for that?

if i do an extraction on 50 seeds.... how do i tell the dosage of the goo if i only do a polar and non polar extraction?

for the record, can you do an extraction of just salvia leaves the way you do an extraction of HBWR seeds with a polar and non polar solvent?

are all alkaloids of different plants able to be extracted with a polar and non polar solvent wash?
