no no i totally understand.  i figured while we were on the subject.. i just like to get side tracked cause i have just an unlimted amount of questions. im not here to have people do the work for me.... but i just ask ALOT of questions, (if you havent been able to tell. )if i tried to look up all of the answers to the questions i ask... i would never learn anything.

the fact that i am able to come to one specific place and have many different teachers in many different fields is invaulable to me... i take all of my posts very seriously sometimes i disappear for a couple of weeks... but im always here when i get the chance... i have been around about a year now pretty consistantly.

i only mean everything i say and appreciate all of the help in my posts, and put forth honest effort to learn, help and guide others in a field that is probably the most facinating field of work in life.

and were all puttin in "werk" brothers and sisters.

now back to the subject at hand,

so actualy only one round of naphtha and one wash of iso is needed?  erowids said you could/should do it a couple of times?

are you avoiding the further refining step on purpose? as if im not supposed to ask? i been here almost a year and i still dont know what i may or may not be able to ask.  thats why i just ask it all, be even across the board.  :smile:

really? interesting. i plan on HBWR.... so i guess i can only hope for the best.

but only one washing of each is all that is realy needed? obviously the more shaking the better?

so would having 99% iso would give you a better shot at coming up with a powder like substance, where as 91% would leave you with a gooey substance? am i correct?

yes your correct, the more water the more impurities. too many impurities leaves you with a goo.

one wash of each, but note the time i said for each.

the more shaking, the more exposure of seed material to isopropyl.

seems you have an idea of whats what.

yeah i got it down pat now. thanks again.

once it is extracted... and hopefully its a powder... it will keep for a long long time in a dark cool place right?

how do you calculate/dose a powder extraction of HBWR seeds?

dont try and eye a dose, light dosage is 0.002 or 2mg and heavy is 0.004 or 4mg, very hard to even eye out any dose.

128mg(0.128) was a flat pile of chrystals about as big around as a nickel, its hard to say, and working with that little of a weight, impurities can change dosage drasticly.

get a milligram scale, or just make an extract for one person. otherwise it just wouldnt be safe to do a large extraction and try to eye a dose. over 0.008mg can be VERY fuckin scary!

yeah i would defintially never try and eye any chemical.

is a milligram scale the same kind of scale people weigh small portions of coke out on? like one of those jewelry/diamond scales?

it needs to be accurate down to the 0.001, accurate to 0.002 COULD work, but is not recommended. most MG scales even when calibrated, are usualy 0.001 shy or over anyways. a real accurate one would cost over 400$ at the least, but usualy are over 1000$.
most jewelry scales are usualy only accurate to the 0.01.

hmm alright.. i might even be able to find a cheaper one on ebay.

i will probably try and eat the seeds for my first time, then i will do the extraction and then for the third time i would like to try it with rue.

do you extract syrian rue with the same polar/nonpolar way?

damn that really is a nice scale! i like all of the goodies and the small round dish!

what does an a/b extraction persist of chemical/solvent wise?

how long before/after should the rue extract/seeds be taken with the lsa extraction/seeds?

for the record, that link you provided for the scale was cheaper and cooler than the ones on ebay. nice!

i just read an extraction for rue on erowid and it was the 40% water and 60% white vinegar recipe.

is this the easiest/best one for crystals?

the guy said he got orange crystals by adding salt to his boiling mixture.... so basically the rue akaloids bond with the salt crystals?
