Remember a few years ago when Steven, the dell dude, got arrested for buying a small quantity of marijuana?

How is this even possible:

Unless NORML is wrong (http://www.natlnorml.org/index.cfm?wtm_view=&Group_ID=4554), the penalty for possession on under 25g is just a civil citation (100$ fine, no incareration).

Why didn't his lawyer raise holy hell about how the cops abused their power?... Or is NORML just wrong or are there some sort of caveats to these laws?

The only thing I could think of is: That they got busted and the dell dude wouldn't admit that Omar was his dealer so they both got stuck with the selling charge...

Where did he get arrested? Different states have different laws.

Did it say how recent these laws are? Could it be that the law was less lenient at the time he was arrested?

i think it was in his contract with dell that he not use any drugs or anything, and i think with whatever happened, dell just found out and got rid of him. not at all that sure tho

Also, was he driving when he got arrested? Maybe there was a DWI involved.

Yea but the cops don't know anything about his contract... even if they did that wouldn't be a criminal matter.

Reading this, I can't find any reason why he would be arrested. It was ni public, but the laws up there on the NORML site don't mention anything about extra penalties for noticable posession in public unless it was OVER 25g.

it doesnt say what amount the dell dude bought but that mendez was in possession of more than 25 grams
