Panaeolus papilionaceus

Here we have a bona fide example of species Panaeolus papilionaceus,
Growing from the flowerbeds of luxury housing complex Olympic, Hong Kong, China.

Most of the images that you will find of this mushroom,
In books, and on the internet, are in fact wrongly misguideing,
Usually there is a photograph of Panaeolus sphinctrinus,
A completely different Panaeolus mushroom.

We had also found Panaeolus papilionaceus growing in buffalo fields,
Growing directly from the buffalo manure,
Along with two other in-active mushrooms;
Psilocybe coprophila and Panaeolus sphinctrinus.

Keep shroomshroomin,
GG

Keep on shroomin,
Hope you all enjoy the images,

Keep shroomin,

Wow, those stems are so thick for Pans... Cool looking species. They're one of the active species, correct? If they are, hows the potency?

I know but it bothered me that they were so confident on the ID but they dont even know they are active. Not to mention I am trippin on them now, and when I wrote that. Its a nice calm buzz, only slight visual disturbances, but it definately feels psilly. I also ate 4 pan subbs w/ em.

The actual Panaeolus papilionaceus is very close to Panaeolus subbalteatus. It is not the pictuere posted in paul Stamets book. I have articles form japan and China and formt he USA from the later 1800s which show line drawings of P. papilionaceus and two of the published latin, as well as English macroscopic descriptions fit almost to Panaeolus subbalteatus, one of the main characteristics inthose line drawings and in the descriptions is tht the cap of the mushroom goes flat in age, as does panaeolus subbalteatus. The P. shinctrinus and P. campanulatus complex the caps do not grow flat, nor does the imate in pauls psilocybine mushrooms of the world.

This will be featured eventually in my book Spring Time Magic which is still being written on a history of psilocybian mushromms int he 21st century.

I hate to run this old thread up yer ass, but I'm interested in the title of your soon-to-come book.

From the title I would imagine you intend to write (and include pics, of course.) about Psychadelic shrooms which grow in the the Spring months?

If that is so, I wouldn't mind buying it. I really get the hunters itch, in the Spring time.

Later.

Spring Time Magic was originally intended to be about Panaeolus species inthe springtime and actually develo[ped into a completre history of the traditional and contemproary use of magic mushrooms throughout the hostiry of the world. It is composed of many of my publushed papers and new data and lists of species and bibliographies, Right now close to five hundred pages and that is without the photos yet will have photos in color and black and white..\\

Probably not available until mid 2008 0r 2009 in the spring.

A possoble other title may become Tales of the Shroom or Tales from the shroom.

An original manuscript was edited by R. E. Schultes in 1988 and he suggested it should appear in print as a valuabale book on the history of the shrooms.

Sop nopw I will soon start to work. Next year I retitre completely from the world of shrooms and will probably move to Costa rica ot Guatamala.

have a shroomy day and more later
