To my surprise, I found these today at the grass patch. There was nearly a dozen healthy pins too.

Since the secret is out [Re: tahoe]
    #8098939 - 03/03/08 06:25 PM (15 years, 10 months ago)

I am rebuilding one of my accidental beds that was just a stem butt disposal area and I am trying to seperate the species. So I am removing all the old wood chips and replacing them with Stropharia rugoso-annulata .
WE all know how much these things love these dyed wood chips but I just wanted to post a pic of this chunk of mycelium. This was dug up near a area that produced friscosas.
Same area but this is a few months old

here it is now

Some type of light sensitivity disorder? Thats what your telling people now? Did you forget about the 2 months you belived you were a vampire and only drank the blood of people under the influence of datura?

you just need to darken up quick and it wont bug you for the rest of the season. You gotta love that valley sun that turns our lovely soil into rock hard dirt clodds that no mushrooms ever grow in. It is wild mushroom death in the valley for sure. Though this year I am ready to protect my beds *wrrarR*
