i only caught one of the ratdog/sci shows (in philly), and ratdog opened. i wore myself out early on, and was all bummed to be listening to some band that i don't know very well, and don't like that much, instead of more dead.

basically, i would've preferred bobby to play 4.5 hours :grin: :dancing:

That's how I felt too.

SCI is okay. I've had a blast at some of their shows and I've also been very bored at many of them. Their song-wrting abilities are definitely lacking. Also, I feel like their jams serve no purpose other than to fit into a genre. It's like they're thinking "We jam because we're a jamband." Music is so much more than that.

ya the Philly cheese show sucked this summer and i love string cheese to death. so that is defiantly not a good show to judge. new years is going to be sick. that venue is awesome, and the whole event is going to be run on renewable energy.

in terms of string cheeses jamming. i feel they play on a much wider feild. either the jam is very sparce and spacy or its just too simple. no risks involved. they often sound great but do tend to boare me if im actualy trying to listen where they are going

hmmmmm i like them because they have love. and all of the real grateful dead family is on their team. and yes they are inconsistent but when they are on they have an energy that is incomparable to any other band on the scene, and most like the grateful dead. and for this opinion i listen to what Robert hunter, john Barlow, mountain girl, wavy gravy, and allot of others have to say. I'm also extremely bias because they were the first band I ever saw on the scene along with the first time i ate LSD, both of which changed my life, but anyway, i love them with all of my heart
