HI! I've been checking this site periodically for a while now and always find lots of interesting topics, stories, and information. I haven't bothered to post because I have always found what I have been looking for, but this thread truely needs my post!!

I have only watched 2 movies while tripping. I would rather be outside and wandering around more than sitting inside on a trip, but sometimes your trip leads you to the a movie.
The first time I watched a movie while tripping was when I did Acid with two of my good friends. It was around the middle of the trip and we were watching Donnie Darko. This was the first time I had seen this movie and it was pretty intense... Frank the bunny was a little freaking, but tolerable. The story made me think so much that I couldn't string proper sentences together when trying to discuss the different topics that came up.
Overall I would suggest you watch this movie on Acid. Mushrooms might be a little different and make the movie a lot more confusing and scary, but it might also do the opposite for you, so do what you want.

The second movie I watched was just recently about a month ago now. It was a Saturday night and no one had anything to do... the subject of doing some Mush came up and that's what we ended up doing. We decided on 2.5gs each. There were three of us tripping (1 was a first timer), one completely sober, and 3 drinking. The sober friend took us to the house where the 3 were drinking, to wait for them to kick in. On the come-up we watched South Park, which is absolutly hilarious while sober and even better tripping. After a good 40 minutes I could feel them pretty well and went to the bathroom to take a piss. I spent about 5 minutes laughing and watching my face morph in the mirror before I came back out.
The 3 guys drinking were outside, and the rest of us were inside watching the tv, when The Transformers : The Movie comes on!! We all screamed with glee and got very excited. Now I could honestly spend so much time telling you about Transformers as it has taken ahold of me after this trip.. it brings up a lot of questions and was uber confusing, but it was absolutly hillarious!
While watching it we were laughing, screaming, and crying so hard it was so good! Everyone but myself and the other two trippers left for a party while we stayed to watch the movie, as it had an incredible grip on us. At times we were BEGGING for commercial breaks ahaha.
I HIGHLY recommend this movie if you are going to watch something on Mushrooms!!! Transformers has changed my life. LOL

i watched a movie about a year ago, then again this weekend caled the attic expeditions. its made by 2 left shoes so the production is kinda cheesy but the story is pretty cool.

seems like you like anime so i would reccommend you try out daft punk's interstella 5555.

ive always liked twin peaks fire walk with me.

altered states is fun to watch once or twice.

strange days is pretty cool.

the mixmasters audiovisual sessions series from moonshine music are fun.

adaptation might be a ok?

i would just like to say keep the suggestions coming, not only will these keep me with more then enough movies to watch for a while. But honestly i havent seen any threads with this many recommendations!

a few others, but i could go on forever.. I can mainly watch any japanese animation while tripping and thoroughly enjoy it. You dont see bad acting or anything like that as with real movies.. and most movies have really good voice actors so no worrys there.. Easy to get lost in some of them as well, which is good for me while tripping. I like being lost into movies!

that movies was pretty interesting i dont think it would be that hard to follow. though the parts where the lady is freakin probably would be a tad bit dark, its definatelly something that isnt that big of a problem

not a movie, but the serial experiments lain series is a mindfuck NOT on drugs. I can imagine it would be quite the acid trip.

Oh fuck! man, I just realized the perfect acid trip! Just sit down one day with a hit or 2 of acid, and watch the entire 13 episodes. Try to understand what's going on.

Okay, if you can find it...
THE BEST MOVIE ever is the Live Action Alice Through the Looking Glass.

Some of the actors in it that will tell you you picked the right one: Red Buttons (the old comedian), Sammy Davis Jr., and I believe Beuax Bridges... There are others in it to, but I just can't remember who.
The cool thing about that movie is it literally stays true to the book. Its got EVERYTHING in it that the book does! FANTASTIC!
It was made in 1985 and its broken into several parts, so you can actually PICK which one you want to watch if you don't want to watch the whole thing and you don't feel like you lost the story line!

BUY THE DVD its WORTH OWNING!

I really enjoyed Fight Club last time I tripped, I know its not conventional tripping movie but I love it so much and it was much more intense.

BTW has anyone seen Tyler Durden? Its critical that I find him! Thanks!

I smoke allot of pot. Good movies on pot is virtually anything funny or scary - Home Alone to make you laugh your ass off, Silent Hill to give you nightmares.

I watched the South Park Movie while tripping on cubes my first time. It was awesome...I don't remember much about it but I remember I loved it! I know the movie frontwards-and-backwards anyway, though.

People have already mentioned most of the favorites that I remember (especially 2001: A Space Odyssey), but I'll also recommend:

- Beyond the Valley of the Dolls -- From 1970. a very original, bizarre film that sort of pretends to be genuine when it knows it's a farce.  Hard to describe, and you'll probably either really like it or really not like it.  Mostly for LSD, but mushrooms or mescaline work just fine with it.  :wink:

- Kill Bill

- Piranha Part Two: The Spawning -- An entertaining B-movie from 1981.  Two words: Flying piranha.

- Microcosmos -- Just a very long series of awesome close-up insect shots with tiny bits of narration strewn in.

- Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King.  IMO the best movie of the trilogy and one of the best movies ever.
