Well, soon I am going to have my first trip off mushrooms. yippy! I was wondering what movies are good to watch? I'v heard that there are some movies that you should stay clear of on your first trip, ie. "Fight Club" Also any suggetions to make my first trip better? I am not going to do it alone, it will be me and my husband. What about sex? How is that while you are trippin', or will we even feel like it? Thanx!!

My favorite trip movie is Fantasia. As far as sex goes, I have found it to be very fun. Different, but fun. Try listening to music too. I usually get better closed eye visuals, than open eye visuals on mushrooms. Good psychedelic music will help with that.

I would not recommend watching a movie, at least not the first time you trip. I would recommend perhaps going camping, or doing something in nature. Also sex on psychedelics is amazing - especially with somebody whom you love. It creates an amazing bond, as you feel yourselves turning into one being. Good luck, have a safe journey.

Nothing! I dunno I guess some people like to watch movies tripping but I hate it. TV and commercials in particular are the worst. Go outside, explore, do something that you normally wouldn't. Then when you start to come down you can watch a good movie, something thought-provoking.

I watched The Abyss my first time and it was great, but I sorta wish I hadn't watched a movie while tripping, it just draws the attention away from what's happening in your head which is so much more interesting than what any movie will show you.

My first trip, we didnt watch movies. Actually we went over my friends house and he started flipping through the channels. Some of the commercials are amazing, like they were made for tripping or something. Talk shows are sweet too, especially when the camera does that quick pan and zooming in and out of the audiences and stuff, it's nuts.

If you like to "look at stuff move dood" then tv is the way to go. If you want something out of the trip, as you should, you should go outside or watch the movie that is "behind closed eyelids".

If you wanna seriously laugh your ass off while shrooming, and you wanna do it watching a particular movie..just pop in Blazing Saddles. That was one of the funniest times of my life. I suggest if you start getting lost half way through the movie, you turn it off and do something else, but the first half will be absolutely hysterical.

i say go for a walk espesially for your first trip. it is almost impossible to have a bad trip walking around. you can stay in yourself easier and talk and share alaugh when u wish.
then after liek 3 hours walking around come home watch a not to intense movie one that u can watch casually. then just enjoy the relaxing afterglow. ahhhh

It's full of nice colors and great music, it'll change your life wachting it while tripping.
Actuly, it changed my life when I saw it sober.

Whild tripping and camping is fun, I don't know if I would recommend camping for a first trip, unless you have an experienced trip sitter. Outside is definately good, but it's also good to be able to escape to the comfort of home. I'd get a couple trips under my belt before tripping while camping.

If it was my first trip I would also reccomend not watching a movie. I did. lol. But the trip wasn't that strong. It mostly messed with my head and I kept getting confused and my thinking got wayyyyyy too.... fuck what's the word. I kept going in circles. I'd come up with a problem, solve it, then forget the solution and then end up thinking about it 5 minutes later. We were watching south park the movie. It was confusing and long as hell.

Well another reason I thought camping would be a good idea is because where I live our houses are so close togeather and the neighbors can hear practically everything, so no loud music. Also we ( my hubby and I )live near a main Hwy, well it is about 100 yards away. I do not know if that will be dangerous or not. Will it? I really do not know what to expect, so I guess camping might not be the best idea untill I know what to expect, huh?

Now that I think about it, perhaps camping isn't such a good idea if neither you nor your husband have tripped before... You could always camp out in the living room, though! But I wouldn't worry about things like wandering to the highway and getting splatted... in my experience, as long as you don't take such a large dose that you lose "reality" completely, you are fairly able to notice where a highway is and not walk on it... as far as loud music, you don't really need it... some nice soft melodic music tends to work much better for me. I'd say go to the library and get some art books, maybe with Dali, Escher, Van Gogh, whomever you dig... get some nice music (maybe set up a playlist on your computer so it will run through the whole evening)... have some fresh fruit on hand in case you get hungry... and maybe a light movie for the come-down (I find it easier to go to sleep after tripping if I can just turn off my mind and laze out to mindless entertainment). Hope this is a bit helpful!

I find that its extreamly difficult to understand and comprehend telavision or movies when im trippin. So im just either listening to music in the dark are going places.

Apocalypse Now. Saw it my first time on acid, hadn't seen the movie or done acid before. I couldn't follow it very well but the scenery and action blew my mind. I watched it on shrooms after several years more experience with psychedelics and found it just as amazing. If you time it right, you'll peak right as the jungle river journey begins! And of course Baraka. That movie is a journey in itself

One movie I would never recommend watching is Rambo, the one where he goes to Afghanistan. A friend and myself starting watching that just cause I had bought the 3 set dvd earlier that day. Well we were already tripping balls when the movie started and we got about half way through the stick fighting scene when I jumped up and said "I cant take anymore of this shit" We took that out quick and put on Finding Nemo instead. That was an excellent movie to trip to. You feel like you're right there in the ocean looking for Nemo along with his father.
Another excellent movie I watched was Cube 2. It started out just a couple visuals and things moving around on the screen and what not. Then all of a sudden I heard a sound like a tv makes when it first turns on in my head. But it was loud as hell and followed by complete silence. So I decided to close my eyes and see just what was going on up there inside my head. As soon as I closed my eyes I was inside a clear pipe flying through the galaxy. Only I wasn't just flying through outer space I was flying through different time dimensions. Which is what was going on in the movie whenever the rooms switched positions. So I flew way out for what seemed like forever and stopped by several different planets. I could hear my friend talking to me at some points (he was tripping real hard and trying to comprehend what was going on) so he was sitting there having a whole conversation with me while I was sitting there with my eyes closed not saying a word. When I opened my eyes and saw him sitting there finishing a sentence then laughing histarically like he just told me the greatest joke in the world. The only thing I could think was this isn't the original dimension I was in before I closed my eyes. He's still back in the original dimension and won't understand anything I tell him right now because I had just came from a dimension in a future time. So I would close my eyes and hope to fly back to the time he's in so I could talk with him and everything would make sense. This went on for just about the entire movie. It was probably one of the best trips Ive ever experienced.
Other movies Id recommend: Alice In Wonderland Beat Street- this movie had my laughing so hard I thought I was doing nerve damage to my cheeks. Artificial Intelligence
and that's all that I can think of right now...I recommend staying away from movies with subtitles.

I think you'll want to do anything but watch a movie while tripping. But good trippy movies I've seen are Fantasia 2000 and Alice In wonderland. I also like Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory... its weird. IMO its hard to understand the plot of a movie while you're on a trip.

I like fantasia, because there isn't really very much plot to follow, just beautiful music and animation. Alot of the animation in it is almost like the closed eye visuals that you might get while listening to the music. I do agree though, that you shouldn't watch movies the whole time. I like a movie to distract me from the comeup, and then go do other shit.

I'd like to disagree about not watching a movie the first time you trip. The first time I did I watched Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, and it was the best trip I ever had. very enlightening experience, because I saw it a 100 times before, but not in the eyes as a trip (obviously)

I've always been curious what that movie would be like tripping. I don't think I would like it though. It gets really dark and negative in parts. I prefer something a little more uplifting.

Most animated movies are pretty cool to look at. I prefer to go lay on the bathroom floor with the blacklight on looking at towels and drooling on myself, but thats just me... This is of course when I'm really tripping hard...
Now, one time I ate like 1.5 dry gs of shrooms and this was like a few weeks ago when Super Millionaire was on, and we were wanting to watch it which was on like an hour after we ate up so it had already kicked in by this point... I wasn't tripping super hard but I was getting some good visuals, and I swear Regis' head looked like a giant pulsing watermelon... And the TV itself looked like a big bubble, with Regis inside.
On another occasion, about a week later actually, I ate about 3-3.5 dry gs and I tried to look at the TV when I peaked, and I couldn't make anything out. It looked like a big pixelated high color catastrophy... kind of like back in the old days of regular nintendo when the game would get hot or was warped and you turn it on and the color pixels were all misaligned and stuff... yeah. And the sounds... I couldn't hear what people were saying, all I could hear was a pattern of high pitch electronic bleeps and dings and chimes playing in the background.. also kind of like an old nintendo game. The show that was on was an episode of monster house that my boyfriend was taping to watch later... wierd stuff.
I guess it just depends on how out there I really am as to whether or not the TV is anything to look at. Sometimes just turning out all the lights and laying on the carpet (shag rules) with your eyes closed with some cool funky techno music playing is the coolest thing ever... All the colors and patterns and images that come to you are phenomenal.
and I just love to dance... its so seductive.
If I had to suggest a movie to watch tho, I'd deffinitely say go for either alice in wonderland, fantasia, fear and loathing (actually makes sense with the clarity of the shroomies), and well just about anything else that has already been suggested...
--------- This post was a work of fiction.

watch the Monkees film 'Head' - it's a bit dated but has some good scenes - "You're either in the box..or out of the box"

My first mushroom trip I watched part of Aliens...and most of Tremors. They were pretty good. The fuckin worms in Tremors looked CRAZZY.
The last time I tripped I was watching Top Gun. Wasn't very interesting.

Watch Shpongle.
I know its music, but trust me; you can WATCH it

Watching a movie can be great too; you get the feeling like the trip is going somewhere; and you tend to relax... And I consider it impossible to dislike Yellow submarine...

Baraka hands down is the best tripping movie I've ever experienced. Microcosmos bf6 said Pi but I think some people would wig out watching it while tripping hmm.. Fear & Loathing is great

Best advice EVER. Period.
Baraka would be good if you don't have Shpongle.

Never seen Baraka, but Fear and Loathing is my number 1 trip movie. The Wall is intense, very intense. It's a Must to see it at least once while tripping.

The show "behind closed eyelids" is more intense than any movie could ever be.
Nuff said.

I don't find weird dancing animals scary myself. I have heard of others having a bad trip from this movie too though. Personally, I find weird dancing animals quite amusing.

I can't believe no one has mentioned Up in Smoke, the funniest trip movie EVER.
Otherwise, I have to heartily agree with Baraka and Microcosmos. Anyone had luck with any of the Qatsi triliogy?

On my last trip (TEA PARTY! several people chillin drinking shroom tea), all of my friends at first wanted to watch Alice in Wonderland, and about 20 minutes into it, two different people suggested Shpongle at the same time.
Within several seconds, I was on it and we were COMPLETELY GESTUNKENFLUKT!
