King Bolet?

I found lots of these neighboring a bunch of a.muscaria; Under very old and tall pines, this one was interestingly big, I have more pics of some other ones that looks really good, I know certain bolets are choice, it has a white pores underside the cap; the cap is a burgundy deep red/brown, and some tan tones, I have more pics coming up.

Those look right. There are 2 things you should check.

First, scratch the tube surface with your fingernail. It should not bruise, especially it should not bruise blue.

Second, break off a tiny piece from the edge of a cap and put it in your mouth and chew it a little, then spit it out. It should not be bitter or peppery.

If your mushrooms pass those test, there are actually still a few species that are similar enough that you could have them, but they are also edible and choice.

The first one looks a lot like a king bolete to me, nice find! But make sure you check for worms before eating, heh. The second one is hard to tell without seeing the underside, what colour are the "tubes".

The second pic seems to be something else, I remember the pores underneith being more of a yellow/darkyellow. King bolets have a soft white pore underneith eh?
