King Bolete?

This was discovered on the Northern California coast under pines.  Is it Boletus edulis (King Bolete, Porcini, Cep)?









This guy was I_____I close to a tasty treat.  Sorry, dude.  :smirk:



Habitat: under pines, North California coast.
Cap: wrinkled, slightly sticky, cinnamon-brown with some hints of pink.  About 8 cm. diameter.
Pores: white.
Stem: bulbous, solid, white to tan with areas of reticulation.
Scent: pleasant.
Spore print: in process.

I'm still working on finding me one of those bad boys. Unfortunately I have to take a 5 or so month break until the winter shuts the hell up and lets the warm in again. :tongue:
