micron magic disks question

Im new @ growin shrooms, and i have heard good things from these magic filter disks, and how they supposedly greatly reduce the risk of contamination. I bought 25 4 5$$ and im not exactly sure on what to do with them. Anyway all im wondering is where do they come in if im using them with the PF tek or the MMGG?? If anyone else has purchased these they could possibly tell how they used them.

Make a hole in your lid and screw the lid on the filter, thats'all.
It works wonder with grain and PF cakes.
Innoc jars throuth the filter and tape the holes or lift the filter.
There is also a method on micronmagik site....

I used them instead of the metal lids. They worked great, no contams.

In my experience if you use only the filters with no lid, you lose way too much moisture.

To prevent that, you put all the jars in a big rubbermaid container. Then fill with water until the water level is half way up the side of the jar. Then fan it out twice a day using the lid to fan it to get fresh air in there. Works great. They colonize much faster if you forget the metal lids. That way they can breathe better.

i agree-i have my set up like this-i have a large rubbermaid with water in the bottom of it-then i have a metal shelf suspended above the water-i use a 300 watt aquarium heater in the water-i have plenty of moisture-they colonize way faster-
i keep getting the green though-i think its in the way i pressure cook my seed-maybe not long ago-i have been for 60 minutes-

Yeah, I heard of putting perlite and water in there, but I thought why waste the perlite? Just use water. I PC for 20 mins and it's always fine.

Hey guys thanx for all your input-
What I ended up doing was replacing the lid with a filter disk, and im keeping them in an rubbermaid contianer in my closet. I put about 1-11/2 " of perlite in the bottom, and added some water. the avereage temp in the contianer is about 80, and the humidity is around 90%. I placed 8 jars in there about 12 days ago and left them alone. I just checked on them yesterday and all of them are about 80-90%colinized!! this was way faster then i expected, i havent even built the terrerium yet! There is also no sign of contamination on ANY of them!! amazing! Did i just get lucky, or do these things kick ass!! I highly recemend you try these out- you wont be dissapionted!!

BTW this is my first time growing, and the strain is EQ. Could anyone tell me what kind of trip they produce. Any personal exp. with them?? I just want to have some idea of what to expect if i manage to make it that far.
