Terrarium setup question
    #603676 - 04/09/02 08:00 PM (22 years, 7 months ago)

I am wondering if this will work. I am going to use a plastic tub for fruiting. Now I have read of people using air bubblers to aid in air exchange. How about this. Can I simply cut a small hole near the bottom to drain CO2 and cut a small hole near the top to let O2 in. Both would be covered with a filter. Will I lose too much humidity? I am using perlite for that. I am thinking that a hole small enough will help air exchange( although I may still need to fan it out once or twice a day) and that because CO2 is heavier it will naturally drain out and the O2 will flow in. Any help would be great! Thanks.

If you are going to be faning it twice a day, don't worry about extra air exchange, my friend uses a plastic tub

and fans it out maybe once a day at the most, and here are the results

Thanks for the input. I was hoping to see if anyone had tried cutting holes to see if this worked so that I wouldnt have to air out at all. Those pics look great too; I hope to see the same.

That is truly a work of art. Very nice!
