I have looked every where for rye grain and rye berries but can not find a thing
I have tried the net but for 2kg it will cost about ?6 + ?8 for postage.
This will cost me ?14 which i think is too expensive.
So is there any alternative to rye grain or an alternative source thats easy and chep to buy.
Thanks

wild bird seed or millet seed (with hull), available at pet shops (cheap). Make sure you take the sunflower seeds out, this can be done by soaking in water and skimming the sunflower seeds off the top. Brown rice can also be added to this.
Health food shops should sell rye berries, ring a few.
Nice to see a UK post
Good luck

they are more nutritous, and therefore potential points of contamination.. somewhere where contams could take hold..
but.. they contain tryptophan, along with other chems we want.. and.. they are densely nutritous.. soo.. its a trade off..
i have never had a problem with them.. i used to remove most and use them alone to see if there was a difference.. not really anything extreme..perhaps better fruit in the end? I didnt really check.. only paid attention to the differences up to the myc. stage

I will have a look for them to day if i get time from colledge.
But I am also intrested in finding some high nutrient addatives to mix in with the water. So far i am disolving dextrose in with my water before i add it to my
br flour and ver mix which so far is doing great.
Using a mycelium syringe it just fully colonised withing 12 days.
What i want to know is what types of addatives does any one else use.
Thanks

You'll have more chances if you try searching at some local market on the province or countryside village. I buy any organic grain from the local market were i live, 2 euros (last time i bought) per Kg of rye or wheat, i've tried both grains with success, no fungicides or pesticides.
