Casing after using cakes....

If you were to birth a bunch of cakes and let them flush a couple times, could you case them after you were done? Cause what I want to do is this:
My chamber can hold almost 12 cakes. I would like to let them do their thing as long as i can. Then when they are through, and while I now have new space in my grow chamber (and new cakes are germinating), can I case the used cakes and get any fruits from them? Would there be enough nutrients? Im assuming there would be because once you crumble them, and add the casing, doesnt the mycelium re-establish itself?
I just dont want to have a few weeks of nothing to do while my new cakes are germinating. This will give me something to always have in the chamber at all times.

One more question....
When you use perlite at the bottom of your terrarium.....
how ofter most you change it? Can you use it for 3 flushed?
And then should you get rid of it?

yes, you can case them if you would like. even if you dont get a single fruit this will get you used to the process of crumbling and casing. you will most likely get a few, just make sure to give it a pretty heavy misting when you case and when you first put it in the terr. re-read a casing tek before you do it and go for it.

as for the perlite i use it a pretty long time, just until it looks nasty or smells bad. i have baked it twice or three times before throwing it out most of the time. strain and bake, put back in terr.
