Completely wild patches P. Weilii

2 different locations, one was half credited to rancid in which we both had been looking in that area for sometime and finally located them. The other is atleast 7 or 8 miles away and growng in long wild fescue. The area is a 3 year old clear cut that stretches for miles and is completely isolated, ive scouted it out before since its real close to my folks home in woodstock. This is the first year ive found them here. No more worrying about people seeing me this place is a quarter mile hike into the woods and noone around yay.

Excellent finds, again. Cool to see them in fescue, really raises the number of locales to look for them. I'm thinking specifically about a large civil war battlefield near to where you are.

The grass patch is a ways away from developement, its a wide trail going down to a large river. Once down to the river its a quarter mile or so to the clearing, which spans for atleast a mile. The entire area ive searched has had them growing so im assuming the whole thing is. Ill post some more pics tonight when i can upload again.

The best way to begin propogating those without having to pay attention to detail or spend money imo:

1. Take mature caps and drop them into a one gallon container of water and sit for a day or two.
2. Make as many one gallon containers as possible. One cap for each gallon container. It's like a giant inoculation syringe.
3. inoculate pine needle patches and grasses rich in red clay soil. You may be dramatically taken aback by the purpose and the meaning in your ability to do this.

I think the best way to propogate them is let some clusters grow and decay. The amount of spore discharge from a cluster of weilii is monstrous.

didn't somebody on here actually plant the spores as seeds in a patch of grass and mycelium and weilii grew? Amazing if true. It was a sod patch or something.

yea pretty much, but watering isnt as effective as a good rain.

Its all about environment. Weilii like a little bit of sun and they like woodchips,pinestraw and healthy soil. I would compost them toss weilii into a good area and let nature takes its course. Mine took about 2 to 3 months to start fruiting and now it fruits constantly whenever conditions are right.
