Mushroom deaths in Australia

Mushroom eater's death prompts alert for doctors

Just a reminder to all the mushies hunters to stay safe and never eat anything than hasn't been positively identified.
The article claims that death caps are becoming more widespread in south-eastern Australia. I wonder why that is?

HI, if you are really interested in mushroom poisoing cases in Austrlia, I will post R.V. Southcott's 1973 paper on the subject with dozens of ingestions and a few deaths.

As for articles. Newspaper reporters know not mycology or its mysterious ways.

Hence read the Sheep getting high on mushrooms article in my grapevine section of my website.

Yeah, I saw this in yesterday's herald.....a tragic and unnecessary mistake....but what about the poor bloody 16-year-old who had kidney failure and never reported back to the hospital??

I wouldn't think you'd last long without treatment.......
