Golden colored mushrooms in Australia
    #1334575 - 02/25/03 11:11 AM (21 years, 1 month ago)

I was just out walking arround the garden, and a clump of about 20-30 bright colourd yellow/gold muchrooms were growing in a garden bed. there is bulk cow shit mixed into the garden for sure.
Mushrooms dosnt really have a smell, it has a really skinny gold/yellow stem. the cap is about 1 and a half inches acrosss, comming to a golden/yellow point on the top, darkest coloring in the middle, and fades to a yellowish colour on the outside of the cap. No spores yet, but the gills are a clear yellow colour. i dont think they are magic, but gota be worth asking  :smirk:
Any sugestions would be good :-)

Those look a lot like Leucocoprinus birnbaumii, which is also commonly found in flower pots. They should not be eaten.

If so, they should have a white spore print.

Happy mushrooming!

I thought it was an aussie inky cap for a second, but maybe not. Certainly not active. If it doesnt stain blue then it aint active, as there are only one or two Australian psilocybes that are active without bluing present. Always get a positive id before consuming any mushroom.
