Spirit animals?

I know most of you are familiar with the concept of spirit animals, or power animals. I've noticed, constantly, that while I trip I ALWAYS find myself thinking of wolves. I Look at my legs, and they look more like wolf legs than human legs. I think of myself as a human being, but also as a wolf. I think about how to survive in the world, i need to be more like a wolf.. quick, stealthy, sleek, loyal to the very end. They inspire me throughout a large part of the trip, every time.
So, has anyone else had similar repetitive animal sightings or influences whilst tripping?

I think the wolf thing is just a shroom thing (everone I know says that people look like wolves while tripping) but its odd that you mention that...
I was planning to go questing for my spirit animal on my next trip, and in my mind, the wolf has been the prevailant animal... close second to cayote.

the cicada has been around here lately, and i recently realized the significance of the creature, because they are all in constant mantra and communication with each other.
the ties between cicada and mantra is very powerful, and i myself have been learning things about the power of voice/toning.
i do not feel like i "am" a cicada though. but it's the most clear sign in my path right now.

I've felt from a young age that my spirit animal is the shark. When I moved to Hawai'i I learned the concept of the individualized power animal (I forget the Hawai'ian name for it, sadly). I've been thinking about getting a Samoan-style geometric tattoo with the image of a shark in the middle. As for tripping, I can't say I've ever really connected with certain species of animals specifically, though I will say I have felt very deep connections to the Animal Kingdom and the idea of Animal Innocence. Since I started tripping I have become a vegetarian (a truly outlandish notion for someone who knows my former eating habits), and could never conceive of willfully killing an animal -- indeed, it is with great pain that I vacuum up ants that have found their way into my bedroom and kitchen, and I always regret it afterwards.
I've also connected spiritually with my white flop-eared bunny after a powerful shroom trip, and we still share a strong bond.

honestly when i trip i see what look like zombies coming toward me whenever my eyes are closed. The whole time. Nearly every time. I'm dead serious. I consciously try to change that image but it's completely out of conscious control. What is the deal with that? It isn't scary but it's real odd.

I used to have images of horribly mutilated bodies get stuck in my head when I smoked bud... they'd just keep flashing into my mind, but it only happened when I was stoned. It used to freak me the hell out. It also gave me a horrible fear that somehow my body is going to be mutilated... bizarre eh?

I wouldn't be able to handle that. I used to love zombie movies alot when I was younger. One day though, I was walking in a park with a friend discussing the movie "Night of The Living Dead". He says it would be so intense if they existed. Right when he said that, a strange old woman walks up and says "If you keep speaking of them, they'll be created in your lifetime." It really doesn't sound like much, but the way she looked, and the manner in which she said it.....ah. It stuck in my mind. Just thinking of zombies freaks me out now.
Irrelevant, I know.

yes i often see dog and cat. in fact they are helping me during the trip, finding out some informations for example. Sometimes i see see-turtle and other animals in some rare occasions like shark, lion and eagle. Under ayahuasca, i see the cat too and crocodile.

my animal also is a wolf. I've loved them since I was a child, realized their attributes, and always wanted to live up to their standards. I know I'm not a wolf yet, but when I reach where I am supposed to be, I will become a wolf. I will be fast, viscious when necessary, loving, giving, leading, and everything else a wolf is.

I've seen the hawk and bobcat alot. Although I feel more connected to the Wolf. We have more in common, and although there are no wolves where I live, I always hear the howling of cyotes which is symbolic enough for me.

I for one have never experienced having a spirit guide. . . although my close friend's spirit animal is a wolf as well. Not to sound close-minded or rude, but I think part of the sensory distortions that come with the mushroom trip lead people into seeing images of wolf-like creatures. In fact, I've noticed that when I look in the mirror, I look like a zombie - but now that you mention it, it looks more like fur. I think it's all in one's head, as what they perceive it to be. Just my 2 cents, I may be entirely wrong
Edit after reading the zombie article: I've seen what I would consider a zombie before. It was a dark-skinned man (perhaps of asian descent?) in a suit with a briefcase who walked and moved very erratically, pausing at things and just "zoning out," and occasionally blurting out sounds. He did not appear to be on any psychedelic, and my friend and I who witnessed him collectively know a lot about drugs and their effects, and we've never seen anyone act like that before. He was also ~30 years old, and didn't look like he used drugs. It was downtown in a heavily populated (and very subculture area, so I doubt anyone really paid much attention to him), and at one point just started walking slowly and obliviously across a steady stream of traffic, almost getting hit several times. Closest thing to a zombie I've ever seen. I watched him with my friend for like 10 minutes, and we contemplated trying to talk to him and see what was in the briefcase, haha.

I have not "seen" any specific animal on any drug, but I can feel a presence,(this by its self influences my vision if I allow it to). For me, there is a proneness to feel as if certain animals are actually a part of me. I think this feeling is archetypal and is not as simple as "its all in ones head". The spirit of the drug can seem to take on many forms, some of which might remind you of animals. With ayahuasca, sure there is a certain jungle-like arrangement of tiled-scales, foliage, and snake like visuals. SO people say they see snakes, and gators...... Visuals like that can remind you of many things. They then can take on any form within the geometric, fractal-like framework.
What I do find intriguing, is that noisy insects, snakes and jaguars seem to be very common for a variety of reasons. Before I had ever read up about these sorts of feelings and visions I had already experienced them. So there was no way anyone elses experiences had influenced me. I find it very interesting that snakes seem to be very prevalent in peoples visions. The typical trip, (specifically on mushrooms dmt or ayahuasca) seems to be animated with hissing noises and visuals that have a mind of their own, the same visuals that take on the form of a snake(little,or massive and seemingly selfconscous visual anomalies).
Most interesting to me is that you can merge with what seem to basically be seperate entities, even plants, real or imagined.
The first time I took a massive dose of lsd the visuals became more than beautiful and sort of pushed their way through the other side where the beauty and complexity became intimidating. They seemed as if they could chew right through me because sharp, acute angles became more prevalent resembling teeth. I the dark I perceived them as being something I had to be able to control because I needed to learn from them, and not be frightened. They were carnivorous, and these intense visuals resembled dark entities with teeth like a jaguar. That night I was pretty sure that this had some significance to other people, and I actually called these hundreds of sepeate bodies and sets of teeth, jaguars.
I have seen them ever since. Specifically when on a very high dose, alone, and in the dark. Ayahuasca seems most capable of taking on different animal forms(even plants).
