im trying to figure which way would be the best way to use the spores when consumng them. should i soak them in alcohol making a tincture or make a tea to soften the spores. would the alcohol have an unwanted effect, such as degradation of the medicinal properties? any input would be beneficial.i have plenty of spores and will have much much more in the future. thank you.

Research found that Reishi spores when broken are in deed more potent than Reishi, the mushroom or the mycelium.I dont want to take the time to crush the spores, this is a hard procedure anyway. so i figure i could soften the spores by putting them in a tea or alcohol. This would allow the stomach to digest them, other wise the body wouldnt absorb them.

I'm glad the question was asked about reishi and spores. I'm currently growing reishi (photo was from today), and I was wondering if I should let it sporulate at all. I mean, it looks so much more appealing with it's bright beautiful colors, than it does all grey. I'm considering selling it, so I have to take looks into consideration. What do ya'll think?

There are more triterpenoids in the spores. However the spores are pretty resistant and either need to be extracted in hot water or cracked using ultra-sound (i am sure there are other methods too).

Is there a temperature threshold beyond which these beneficial materials break down? Can the spores be boiled?
Thanks,
JD
